3 Thrills At Disney's Hollywood Studios

If you like a little adventure on your vacation, be sure to stop by Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS) at the Walt Disney World Resort to check out these three thrilling rides. Opinions often differ on what DHS has to offer, but fans of thrill rides almost always agree that the big three attractions here offer up some of the most sensational moments on property.

The Star Wars faithful flock to this Park every year during the annual Star Wars Weekend celebrations, but adventurers can take a dramatic race through space aboard Star Tours - The Adventure Continues all year long. Guests climb into the Starspeeder 1000, for a 3D motion-simulated space flight launching them into the world of Star Wars. The simulators and accompanying show offer 50 story combinations that give guests a new and experience almost every time they ride. This thrilling ride is such a fan favorite, it even has it's own official Facebook page!

Next up venture over to the Hollywood Tower Hotel for a trip into another dimension on the The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The haunting beauty of the golden age Hollywood abandoned at it's peak makes the pre-show set of this popular attraction worth the time guests wait in line. For those unsure if they want to ride, there is a chicken exit before you board the elevator, this one is for serious thrill seekers only. After a spooky journey to the edge of darkness these ride vehicles take a free fall down the abandoned shaft only to suddenly changes direction and launch back up the hotel at astounding speeds. "Free fall" is also a term used lightly here. Actual free fall that wasn't fast enough for Disney, so they designed the attraction to pull the ride vehicle down the shaft even faster.

Finally, guests searching out that sensational burst of excitement should stop by the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. One sweet ride awaits as the whole entourage climbs into a super-stretch limo like never seen before. This vehicle comes decked out with a 125-speaker, 24 sub-woofer, 32,000 watt audio system playing a unique custom compiled soundtrack by rock legends Aerosmith that includes a new spin on one of their classics entitled "Love in a Roller Coaster." The limo will peel out at a shocking 60 miles an hour for it's nighttime trip through hectic city traffic, swooping in and around 3 thrilling inversions.

Hubby gets queasy on motion simulator rides. So we haven't done the Star Tours ride, but we absolutely love Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster! The first time we did ToT, the seat restraints were just lap bars for the entire row. We were seated with a very large man. The lap bar rested on his belly, but was about 8" from my legs. I could have very easily climbed out of the car if I had wanted to. The first time the car dropped, I was literally standing up! Talk about TERROR!! I'm glad they changed to individual restraints.

I am partial to Tower of Terror! The theming starts before you enter the queuing and continues until after the ride is over! And I love that it's never the same ride twice :)
