6 Musts for Epcot After Dark

Just like the Better After Dark in the Magic Kingdom attractions we previously discussed, there are a few things at Epcot that become even more magical after the sun goes down. Lighting elements seem to bring the imagination alive as the countries of World Showcase are somehow transported back to their native lands, and Future World becomes a limitless realm where tomorrow could bring anything. The everyday sites and sounds of a Theme Park turn reality inside out after dark and create an atmosphere of magic. For a nighttime visit to Walt Disney World's second gate, make sure you stop by our 6 Musts for Epcot After Dark.

Fountain of Nations - Propelling 30,000 gallons of water per second over its edges at the heart of Epcot's Future World the Fountain of Nations sends 149,000 gallons of water as high as 150 ft. into the air set to music. While the show happens throughout the day, when it's enhanced by lighting effects after dark it is even more spectacular.

Test Track - While the majority of the rides at Epcot are contained within show buildings, Test Track sends guests speeding around the outside of the building in their cars. This rush of adrenaline is fantastic any time of the day, but somehow it seems even faster and more uncontrolled in the dark.

Katsura Grill - The simple goodness of Japanese stables offer something tasty all day at Japan's Quick Service restaurant Katsura Grill. However - in the moonlight the simple outdoor seating area becomes truly enchanting. The patio, lit by paper lanterns swaying overhead, sits next to a waterfall high above the rest of the pavilion and creating a romantic respite for a bite to eat.

The France Pavilion - Of course Disney's version of the City of Light takes on its own special flair after sunset. Romantic music fills the air, and it's easy to imagine you're strolling down next to the Seine as glittering lights dance across the water. Stop to have your portrait done, grab a glass of wine, and just soak up the atmosphere as the Eiffel Tower twinkles in the distance.

Illuminations - IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is a light, laser, and fireworks spectacular that lights up the sky above World Showcase Lagoon each night. Guests line the shores to be treated to one of the most popular nighttime shows on property. With almost 1.2 miles of promenade surrounding the lagoon the viewing area is vast and includes popular locations to watch from such as several waterfront restaurants.

Twinkling Sidewalks in Future World - While you're making that late night slog back to the exit after Park closes, be sure to look down at the sidewalk just before you get to Spaceship Earth. Embedded in the concrete is a little bit of fiber optic magic that crates a pathway sprinkled with pixie dust. It's one of those special little touches that only comes to life after dark.
