Art of Animation's Drop Off Pool Bar

Disney's Art of Animation is a fun place to stay if you're looking for a Value Resort that's fun for the whole family. While on my adults only trip last month I found myself frequently hopping up on a chair at The Drop Off Pool Bar to soak up the tropical atmosphere and quench my thirst.

The Drop Off Pool Bar

The Drop Off is located just out the back side of Animation Hall. Nestled between the buildings of the Finding Nemo rooms at the Big Blue Pool. This is the feature pool at Art of Animation and the hub of all sorts of resort fun. The perfect place to take a break and relax outdoors the friendly bar tend talked to me unphased as a storm from the edge of hurricane Sandy rolled in. In addition to cocktails, The Drop Off has a selection of bottled beers and wines, a serve yourself soda center, a variety of coffees and a fridge that's stocked with grab and go snacks to much like veggie trays, cheese plates, sushi, and desserts.

Drop Off don't offer any specialty cocktails, and served the standard Disney Pool Bar Menu. Which includes a wide variety of beer, wine, mixed drinks and frozen delights like these:

• Skinnny Coconut Mojito - Skinny Girl Coconut Vodka, Coconut Water, Mint, Fresh Lime Juice and Agave Nectar
• Grand Margarita - Jose Cuervo Gold tequila, Grand Mariner, Fresh Lime Juice, and Sweet-and-Sour
• Citrus Infusion - SKYY Infusion Citrus Vodka, Midori, Agave Nectar, and Lemon Juice
• Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea - Bacardi Superior Rum, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Hendrick's Cointreau, and Sweet-and-Sour with a splash of Coca-Cola
• Poolside Plunge - Bacardi Black Razz Rum, Odwalla Lemonade, a splash of Grenadine and Sprite.
• Red Stag Lemonade - Red Stag Clack Cherry Bourbon and Odwalla Lemonade
• Paradise Punch - Coruba Coconut Rum, VeeV Acai Spirit, Pineapple Juice, and Grenadine
• Captain's Mai Tai - Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Amaretto, and tropical Juices ytopped with a float of Myers's Dark Rum
• Banana Cabana - Cruzan Mango Rum, Coruba Coconut Rum, Creme' de Banana, Orange and Pineapple Juice with a float of Grenadine
• Red Superfruit Sangria - Eppa Certified Organic Red Sangria topped with VeeV Acai Spirit
• White Superfruit Sangria - Eppa Certified Organic White Sangria
• Raspberry Sunburst - Finlandia Tangerine Vodka, Chambord and Lychee Blended with Raspberry Puree
• Pina Colava - Bacardi Back Razz Rum blended with Pina Colada Mix and Raspberry Puree
• Mango Margarita - Patron Silver Tequila, Mango Puree and Passion Fruit Foam.

The New Pool Bar Menu

I was a little disappointed to learn that it had changed since I was last in Disney in May, and my Tropical Mojito is no longer served on property. So I took a chance and ordered something new, a Poolside Plunge. The Poolside Plunge is a tasty concoction of Bacardi Black Razz Rum, Odwalla Lemonade, a splash of Grenadine and Sprite. If you love raspberry lemonade, you'll love this fun cocktail, but watch out because it goes down smooth and before you know it you'll be at the bottom of your second drink.
