When I head to Walt Disney World, you can be assured that I am sipping and snacking my way all over the place. It's hard to choose just one fabulous spot to eat, especially when you are somewhere like Disney Springs. There are more Celebrity Chef eateries in this unofficial park than you can swing a Mickey Bar at. My last trip was filled with four days tasting my way through the springs, and I'm tell you that these are The Best 5 Things To Eat At Disney Springs This Summer.
There's no particular order to this list, but I'm starting it off with The Ganachery's Chocolate Chiller. If you loved chocolate milk as a child, you need to stop in and order one of these cold concoctions in a charming little bottle. Sinfully delicious is the only way to describe this cool velvety liquid chocolate topped with fresh whipped cream and mixed chocolate pearls on top. As a bonus, it can be ordered either with or without a shot of Bailey's if you want an even more grown-up version.
I've heard a few mixed reviews about the 4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck, but I absolutely adored the Chicken Tinga Taco Cone. I am a huge chicken tinga fan and this version, did not disappoint. If you haven't ever tried Chicken Tinga it is a dish of stewed chicken from Puebla, Mexico that is highlighted by its chipotle smokiness and a touch of piloncillo sugar. The 4 Rivers version is mild, and delicious. Plus - how can you not love a walking taco cone?
The biggest surprise to me on this list has got to be the Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites I had sitting at the bar in Wine Bar George. The rich, creamy cheese sauce is full of noodles just flows out of these saucy bites of goodness. The crisp fried rounds are sitting in a pool of tomato nage, and topped with pecorino cheese, but the most alluring flavor note to me was just the slightest hint of spice provided by the garlic flavor of sriracha. Well done Wine Bar George! Who knew Mac-n-Cheese could be turned into something so interesting.
With such a great showing inside, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I found my next favorite item on this list the next day at The Basket by Wine Bar George. That my friends is the Dole Whip Mimosa. I drank a lot of pineapple flavored cocktails on my last trip, but this is the best of the best. Not only does it have the creamy richness of dole whip, and sweetness of Moscato wine, but the top of Prosecco they add to it gives the whole thing a beautiful zing! The Prosecco brings out a truly fresh pineapple flavor that many of the other Dole Whip drinks (I'm looking at you Spikey Pineapple) just don't have. If you love Dole Whip and Mimosa are two of your favorite things, you want to head over to The Basket by Wine Bar George right now.
Pro tip: If you bring along your own WBG Corkcicle for them to put it in, you get a pretty nice discount!
Finally, the last thing on my list was an entire meal because my Lunch At Pepe by Jose Andres was poppin'! The Pepito Ternera is this restaurants version of a cheesesteak with juicy cuts of flank steak served on a crispy bread and gooey gourmet cheese imported from Spain. So good! Pair that with the award-winning chips served as Patatas Bravas and you have a quick lunch easily worth a special trip to the springs just for it. Add a glass of Jose's famous Spanish Sangria Roja and you may just think heaven is someplace in Spain.
Overall I had a fabulous time eating my way around Disney Springs. It was hard to narrow the best down to just 5 items, but here you have it. If you're wondering where to find great food remember that these are Best 5 Things To Eat At Disney Springs This Summer!
