If you're wanting the most thrills, here are our recommendations on where to sit at each of Disney World's roller coasters:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: Sit in the back! If you sit near the front, you'll notice that the train is sloooow to go down the hill until the last car has crested. So sit in the back and enjoy a faster ride.

Space Mountain: Go for the middle. Guests often experience a bumpy ride in the back, and you can get the most g-force by being positioned behind the wheelbase, hence the middle seats.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith: Sit in the front! This is not only an awesome, exhilarating view, but also the best position for the most g-force.

Expedition Everest: Sit in the back. Again, more g-force here as you experience a big drop toward the middle of the ride. Plus, when you go backwards, you're in the front!

I love sitting in the FRONT on Space Mountain! It's pretty exhilarating, and you get a more exciting ride.

I like the front for Space Mountain and frankly I prefer the Alpha track. Big Thunder....no real preferences except I like to ride at night. Everest....definitely the front.....not only can you see more wonders of Disney in the distance I think you can even see Canada when you reach the end of the track! :::Smiles::: As for my personal fave.....RRC.....definitely the front all the time, every time......if only it was 3 times as long. :)

Agree across the board except for one thing...
When it comes to Space Mountain, if you really want a terrifying thrill, you have to get the front. Particularly for grownups as er generally sit higher in the seats and feel relatively unprotected! Hurdling thru the darkness with nothing in front of you is absolutely chilling. No glowing side strip on the car ahead of you to orient you... You are the first one to feel the surprise turn... The first one to get the sudden drop... The first one to start screaming... And likely the last one to stop;-).

I second what Okaybye says about the front seat of Space Mountain - I got that seat (just by chance) last December, and it scared the ba-jesus out of me! The whole time I felt soooo exposed and thought for sure I would fall out! If that's your thing, then go for it! I'll pass next time!

RNRC is AWESOME when in the front seat (ok, it's awesome anywhere, but the front is TOTALLY AWESOME!!)

Great post, Kristen!

Your point doesn't make sense when comparing RnR to Everest. You get the best ride on RnR by sitting in Row 11, the most G's are always in the back as you whip through and get pulled by the rest of the train/limo coming out of turns, hills and inversions. Sit in the front if you want a slow ride but the best "view" (it's in the dark folks), sit in the middle if you are scared and want an easier ride (good mix of thrills and smoothness) and sit in the back if you want the best ride possible. Plus you can ride twice as many times as the people that ask for and wait longer for the front.

Oh and as for my "credentials" about this topic, I worked there for 4 years, so I might know something about the ride.

I agree with sitting in the back for Thunder, but the front is the best for Space mountain, like the previous poster said.

Coming from a former cast member of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, the best seat is Row 11. Trust me on this one!
