Bus Times Feature Now On The My Disney Experience App

The complimentary transportation services offered to Walt Disney World Resort guests are one of my favorite things about staying on property. However - the touch and go experience of getting to the bus "on time" has caused stress on more than one occasion. Disney has answered the frustrated cries of guests, and stepped up their transportation game by enhancing the MyDisneyExperience App. Guests leaving from Walt Disney World Resorts will now be able to see upcoming bus departure times.

Now you can spend less time waiting at the bus stop just hoping that the next one will come soon, and more time doing things that fill the day with fun. The new feature, offers "up-to-the-minute estimates for when the next buses will depart from their Disney Resort hotel and when they will complete their journey to their destination." So if you want five more minutes in the gift shop, or to grab a snack to toss in your backpack before you leave the hotel, you will now know exactly how much time you have.

Who Will Love The New Bus Times Feature?

  • Hyper-planners that need to get their group to where they are going on time will love knowing when the next bus arrives, and if their bus will make it to the Parks on time.
  • People running late for their dining reservations will know if they should wait for the next bus, or use an alternative.
  • Family managers who need to juggle the attitudes of cranky impatient children (or adults).
  • Information junkies that like to be in the know and crunch the data, even on vacation.
  • and many more!

Since the MyDisneyExperience App regularly updates in real time, this new feature offers the most current estimates for buses heading to all four theme parks, two water parks and the Disney Springs area. Guests can access the feature throughout their Walt Disney World Resort stay by tapping "See Bus Times" when viewing an active Disney Resort hotel reservation associated with MyDisneyExperience account.

The latest version of MyDisneyExperience is now available in the Apple Store and Google Play.

I suppose this is a good thing during slow times at the bus stop. During busier times I have watched 2, 3, or even 4 buses to my desired destination pass without me because they were full. This is particularly true if several scooters show up. I waited for 5 buses for Epcot once while they filled with scooters and their families that showed up after My wife and I were already there. It's nice to see Disney trying though.

Aquila, there are many times that I have had to wait for multiple buses because I was in a scooter. Buses can only carry 2 scooters at a time, so if there is a line of scooters it can be difficult. Especially when using buses that stop at more than one resort. Wilderness Lodge is the worst for this. If I had been on foot I would have gotten on a bus so much sooner. The problem isn't so much who is being loaded onto the buses, and a need to increase the number of buses during peak times.
