Changes Coming Next Year to Tables in Wonderland Dining Discounts

Tables in Wonderland members take note - there are changes coming to the discount dining program by the middle of next year.

According to our friends at the Disney Food Blog, at least one restaurant is going to stop offering the Tables in Wonderland discounts while others will have more blackout dates when guests use the card.

Victoria and Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort will continue to honor Tables in Wonderland discounts through July 14, 2014, but as of August 1, 2014 will no longer accept the card. Tables in Wonderland members can still book reservations at Victoria and Albert's as of right now, but cannot use the discount for the Queen Victoria Room or the Chef's Table.

A few other Walt Disney World restaurants are going to have additional blackout dates for Tables in Wonderland members beginning August 1, 2014.

These locations include: Le Cellier Steakhouse, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, 1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana (dinner only), Chef Mickey's, and Cinderella's Royal Table. The new blackout dates include: November 23-29, 2014; December 21-27, 2014; March 8-April 4, 2015; and May 31-June 20, 2015.

Current blackout dates for all Tables in Wonderland members also continue to apply, and these include: Mother's Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Whoever is responsible for these changes is chipping away at some of the benefits and discounts FL residents look forward to using. These benefits encourage us to visit more often. If you start making it more difficult to use, and restrict usage, it will no longer be a benefit. We will end up taking our business elsewhere.

While I agree that Disney is chipping away at discounts that it has offered in the past, isn't the best reason to go anywhere because the food and atmosphere is great? While discounts are nice it's in their nature to come and go.

New to this site but an avid Disney Fan. Have been a Florida resident passholder for many years and have never hear of the Tables in Wonderland. Can someone please explain what this is?
