Cupcake Update

Usually, you don't think of "cupcakes" and "news" in the same sentence. But when there are two new cupcakes to be had at Walt Disney World, that means there are two reasons to do a news blurb on the sweet treats.

First up, the Pop Century resort has a new cupcake: the King. You guessed it, it's a tribute to the King himself - Elvis Presley. This new concoction features chocolate cake with a banana custard filling and peanut butter frosting. The finishing touch? None other than candied bacon and a chocolate drizzle.

Next is the new macaroon cupcake at Disney's newest resort, the Art of Animation. This is a moist yellow cake with a creamy white frosting on top. Decorating the cupcake are crunchy "pearls" along the edge and three macaroons in the shape of Mickey on the top. They reportedly come in a host of colors and will set you back around $3.99.

What do you think? Which one will you be seeking out on your next trip to WDW?

Breakfast will be the best meal of the day with these. And if anyone tries to tell me you can't eat cupcakes for breakfast, I say bah humbug!

Just a side note, AoA food court also has 4 packs of mini cupcakes from BabyCakesNYC (which is located in Downtown Disney). They are vegan and gluten free, but even if you have no restrictions there are really delish. In my opinion they are better than the other cupcakes available on property.
