Disney Hints at Summer Opening for Frozen Ever After and Sommerhus

The latest edition of the Mickey Monitor, the Annual Passholder newsletter featured a small but important bit of information: Frozen Ever After and the Royal Sommerhus in Epcot's Norway pavilion should be open by this summer.

There were no additional details with regard to the new attraction and character meet-and-greet location, just a picture that said "Summer 2016."

Frozen Ever After is being built in the former home of Maelstrom in the Norway pavilion. The ride will feature audio-animatronic figures and guess will hear several popular songs from the film including 'For the First Time in Forever' and 'Do You Want to Build a Snowman."

And of course no Frozen attraction would be complete without 'Let It Go.'

The attraction tells the story of a Winter in Summer celebration in Arendelle where Queen Elsa has used her magical powers to make it snow on a summer day. The first scene of the attraction is the queue where guests will walk past Wandering Oaken's Trading Post.

The Viking ships will take guests past Sven the reindeer, an ice skating Olaf, and more. Riders will also come face-to-face with Marshmallow the giant, evil snowman and visit Troll Valley.

The Royal Sommerhus is where guests can meet Anna and Elsa.

I am looking forward to the new attraction when I visit this year. I rode maelstrom, numerous times in September 2014 just to be able to remember it.

My nieces will be upset. This was originally supposed to open in the spring, we are going in May. Between Disney and Universal, there are a total of 5 major attractions closed down for renovations, not opening until summer at the earliest. I would call off the whole trip for now if it wasn't too late.
