Disney Hotel Exec Joins Clean the World Board

Recently, a Disney hotel executive was named to an organization that helps provide hygiene products to communities in need. Vice president of lodging for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Mark Zucker was recently selected to join the board of directors for the Clean the World Foundation.

Clean the World, which is based in Orlando, aims to provide recycled soap and shampoo to poverty-stricken areas across the nation to help combat illness stemming from lack of hygiene products.

Disney's involvement with the organization goes back to 2009. Since that time, it is estimated Disney has contributed over 32 tons of soap and bottled products from nineteen hotels based in California and Florida.

Rucker had this to say about his involvement with the organization:

I believe in the mission of the Clean the World Foundation and realize the impact we are already having on the lives of children who are in desperate need of hygiene products. The Walt Disney World Resort hotels alone provide tremendous amounts of soaps and bottled amenities that are being recycled into lifesaving items for children and families in the United States and all around the world.

I think this is great news :) I had originally heard about this organization over a year or two ago and hoped that Disney was somehow involved. It took awhile for me to find out but I was glad when I found out that they were. Hopefully they can do more things like this!

I thought this was a neat idea for an organization as well; good to see all those unused Disney soaps & shampoos going to good use!
