Last year a new chef, Daniel Sicilia, arrived at Jiko - The Cooking Place, the signature dining restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and recently the new Pastry Chef Michael Craig joined the team in the kitchen. Disney has announced a few new menu items at Jiko including Durham Ranch elk loin and Mrouzia-style lamb tagine.

Several Disney-area restaurants received the 2017 Golden Fork Award from the Orlando Family Magazine. The awards recognize the "20 best dishes in Greater Orlando." Winners include: Fried Chicken and Doughnuts from Chef Art Smith's Homecoming Florida Kitchen, Braised Lamb Osso Bucco from Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe, Morimoto "Buri-Bop" from Morimoto Asia, and Miso Glazed Mero from Todd English's bluezoo.

And finally, our friends at the Disney Food Blog are hard at work on the 2017 DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining 2nd Edition.
