Disney News Round-up: Delicious Disney Chef Series Returns, Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, and More

Happy Friday! Whew...we made it through the first full week of 2017! Everyone doing OK? We have a few news stories in today's round-up including the return of the Delicious Disney Chef Series. And this weekend is Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.

The dates for the 2017 Delicious Disney, A Chef Series have been announced. The dinners are planned throughout the year and give diners a chance to enjoy dishes created by Walt Disney World Resort Chefs and wine pairings. Our friends at the Disney Food Blog have a full list of the events that includes dates, times, prices, and theme.

This weekend is the Walt Disney World Marathon, and as of today the 5K and 10K have been completed. Races left to run including the half marathon and the full marathon. Last year's marathon weekend drew 30,000 runners to Walt Disney World. The runDisney Health and Fitness Expo is also happening this weekend and there's a full slate of commemorative merchandise for the weekend.

Disney has released a new ticket offer for Florida residents and the most interesting thing about the tickets might just be the blackout dates: from May 27 through June 9 the tickets are blacked out for only Disney's Animal Kingdom. Could this mean that's when Pandora: The World of Avatar is slated to open? Maybe. We'll keep you posted.

And finally, Panasonic has been named the official projection technology for the Walt Disney World Resort.
