The International Flower and Garden Festival showcases the talents of the Disney's florists, landscapers and horticulturists every spring, but did you know that guests can get a peek behind the scenes at The Land's four unique greenhouse environments all throughout the year? This special one-hour walking tour is called "Behind the Seeds" and it's made to spark the imagination of anyone with an interest in gardening or natural sciences.
'Behind the Seeds' offers guests who normally enjoy the 'Living With The Land' attraction a chance to get up close and interactive with amazing plants, insects and fish that they normally just float right by. Though the experiences on the tour may change depending on the time of day it leaves, some of the common activities include feeding fish in the fish farm, releasing protective ladybugs into the greenhouse, tasting the specialty cucumbers that are grown, and learning about some truly unusual crops from around the world. The educational tour discusses the latest plant-growing techniques, and guests are sure to leave with some great ideas for your own garden.
The tour leaves several times a day from the tour desk on the lower level of The Land Pavilion near the entrance to Soarin'. Interested guests can call ahead to make a reservation at (407) WDW-TOUR or drop by upon arrival at Epcot to see if there is space available. At time of publication the tour cost $20 per adult and $16 per child.
This tour is on my Disney Bucket List for our next trip. Have you been 'Behind The Seeds?' Leave a comment below and let me know what you thought!

I did Behind The Seeds this past December and loved it! Our guide was very knowledgable and answered lots of questions. My favorite part was the "shy plant" a plant that closes up when you touch it as a protective measure. Compared to other tours offered at WDW the price is great. We would definitly do it again....in the group of 12 that we went through with 8 people had done the tour more than once

It was pretty interesting getting a behind the scenes look. The cucumbers taste extremely fresh. The tour is worth the price

Ken and I have been on the tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. Would definitely recommend it. It was very interesting to be able to walk amongst the plants and learn more about what Disney is doing.

There are things on the tour you just don't really see on the boat ride. It was very enjoyable and informative. I particularly enjoyed releasing lady bugs, seeing the huge tomatoe tree, and seeing the worlds hottest chili pepper. It should be done at least once.
