Scat Cat's Club - Cafe is the popularquick serve window at Walt Disney World's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. This pretty resort in Disney's moderate category fans has a charming New Orleans theme, so of course, that comes with some fabulous New Orleans foods... including beignets!
Durig the last rennovation project at the resort, this popular sweet treat was given its very own quick-service window at Scat Cat's Club - Cafe. The decor in the small cafe is country casual with oak paneling and Jazz memorabilia lining the walls. The queue allows guests to line up for a truly New Orlans experience.
Guests are welcome to swing on by any time from 6:00 AM to midnight daily for coffee drinks and tasty treats. With such a deliciously sugar dusted treat it's fair to say that in the morning on the way to the Parks, you are going to find a line.
The menu here is small and simple, makign a nod to the most famous of NOLA's beignet providers. Order up a 3 or 6 count of basic Mickey-shaped beignets dusted with powered sugar, and a Cafe' au Lait or Chicory Coffee for that classic New Orleans taste.
However this is Walt Disney World, so you can kick it up a notch by indulging in seasonal beignet favorites, beignet sundaes, and the jazzy Baton Rouge Beignets wich are infused with your choice of Bailey's Kahlua or RumChata.
Not entirely sure what to expect when you order a beignet? Brough to New Orleans by French settlers, the word beignet is French for "fritter" or "doughnut." New Orleans beignets are raised with yeast to achieve the traditional light and airy texture. Scat Cat's beignet dough is cut into an irresistible Mickey shape before taking a swim in the fryer, and then being covered in sugar.
Thanks so much to our friends over at the Disney Food Blog for exclusive us of their beignet images. Check out what they thought of the tasty treats in their post Scat Cat's Club Cafe Is OPEN With NEW Mickey Beignets!
