First Look at Marvel's Doctor Strange

The D23 Expo gave us tons and tons of incredible Marvel news. As we leave behind Marvel Phase Two with the story of Antman, we can look forward to Phase Three beginning in May of 2016 with Captain America: Civil War, which we discussed last week. After that, several exciting new Marvel heroes will be given their own movies to increase the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and eventually tie everything together for the blow out Avengers: Infinity War.

One of the first new heroes to grace Phase Three is Dr. Strange. Dr. Strange, who will be played by popular British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, is the hero of Marvel's mystical universe. The basic Story is as follows:

Steven Strange is an up an coming surgeon, he is egotistical and a general jerk, until an accident takes away his gifted hands and making it difficult for him to 'play God' as it were. Events are set in motion and Strange finds himself at the hands of The Ancient One (to be played by Tilda Swinton) who gives Strange a new purpose in life, and passes on to him the knowledge allowing him to become the Sorcerer Supreme and protect earth from mystical evil forces.

Out of all the Marvel heroes, this is the one I am most excited for. I grew up reading Dr. Strange and am very impressed at the acting roster still being cast for the movie. We would love to hear about your favorite heroes? Is it a big name hero like Captain America? Or is it a lesser know hero like Squirrel Girl? Leave a comment below and tell us all about it.
