Theme Park Food isn't something that usually makes your taste buds water, unless of course you are talking about a Walt Disney World Theme Park. The Chefs of the Food & Beverage department are always coming up with creative new products to give their guests some of the most trendy and delicious and trendy they can imagine. Today I've got five tasty tidbits of Disney foodie fun for you to try this Summer.
The Diamond Horseshoe in the Magic Kingdom
I've never been too excited about the food being served up at The Diamond Horseshoe in the Magic Kingdom, but the changes coming to this restaurant on Wednesday, May 23rd have me downright giddy. This western inspired a la catre menu offers an array of sandwiches, salads, and sides. But - if you are looking for something a little more hearty there's an Entree Platter, with helpings of Carved Beef Brisket, Smoked BBQ Pork, and Grilled Chicken Thighs accompanied with Mac and Cheese, Corn on the Cobb, Creamy Coleslaw, and BBQ Baked Beans. Oh! And I almost forgot. The Diamond Horseshoe will be serving a selection of beer and wine pairings to accompany your meal. I really hope that these new dishes live up to their potential.
Tomorrowland Terrace in the Magic Kingdom
Get your phones out because the purple wall with its own InstaFan following now has inspired a perfectly purple slush that is coming to Tomorrowland Terrace on May 21st. The taro tea slush comes with tapioca boba pearls, whipped cream, and purple sprinkles for a pleasing photo. As far as the flavor profile, taro tea is said to have a sweet and nutty vanilla taste.
The Basket at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs
As someone who spends a fair amount of time at Disney outside the Parks, I'm intrigued and excited by a new quick service restaurant called The Basket at Wine Bar George, in Disney Springs. Other than "soon," we don't know an opening date yet for The Basket," but we do know what's on the menu. You'll be able to pick up the perfect European inspired picnic lunch of bites and boxes filled with "sandwiches, cheese, olives, hummus, charcuterie, cookies and wines on tap - served to-go by the glass or carafe."
New Restaurant Coming To Epcot's Japan Pavilion
Disney and Mitsukoshi USA, have announced that a special new dining experience will be coming to the Japan Pavilion in Epcot. Not much information was released, but the concept will be "inspired by nature and takumi." Takumi is the Japanese word for "artisan," which is fitting for what will be a signature Disney dining experience. The restaurant will be taking over some of the existing floor space of the department store, as well as some backstage area. We'll keep you up to date as more details are revealed.
Intermissions Food Court at Disney's All Star Music
Pineapple lovers will delight in a new sweet treat making its debut at Disney's All-Star Music Resort on May 15th. A Pineapple Whip Swirl Cupcake with pop star looks will be for sale at the Intermission Food Court. This shamelessly chic cupcake comes topped with a swirl of vanilla and pineapple cream, white sprinkles, gold dust, and a trendy dropper of pineapple whip gel! Of course, ever star comes with an entourage, and the dessert party continues with a Blackberry Lemon Cheesecake and a chocolate Red Forest Cupcake that's filled with luscious cherry compote and topped cherry buttercream.
So how will you dig in to these delightful sounding new Disney dishes? Leave a comment and tell me what you can't wait to try.

I'm thinking I could live for a week at the Intermission Food Court and eat nothing but those desserts! Hahaha.
We could not believe all the people taking pics at the purple wall a few weeks ago! Whoever decided to do the purple slushie should probably get a huge raise.I
