Welcome back for more Friday cocktails! Man - we sure need it this week don't we? How many of you spent time this week wishing you could just run away to live in Walt Disney World? I know I did, and if I lived in Walt Disney World I know I'd spend a fair amount of time sipping cocktails in the sun. This week we're checking out some liquid Florida sunshine from Dockside Margaritas in the Marketplace at Disney Springs.
I've been a Dockside Margaritas fan for a long time, but the refurbishment that happened with the launch of Disney Springs made this spot even more inviting with modern takes on old favorite drinks, a larger bar, and a refreshed seating area with comfort, shade, and style. Dockside Margaritas has gone from a grab and go refreshment to the perfect place to sit and stay awhile.
The menu has expanded at Dockside Margaritas too, now with so much more than Margaritas. As a non-tequila drinker I was more than able to order from the ample bar menu which includes cocktails, wine, beer, hard cider, and non-alcoholic choices.
I went for a duo of drinks to capture the Florida spirit. The non-alcoholic version is called the Orange Frost, and is a frosty, delicious frozen orange puree. The drink is bright and fun, a perfect cool down for any hot Florida day. By the way - the Orange Frost is available for one Snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
If you're feeling like you want something a little stronger though, Dockside Margaritas makes one with a little something extra. Order up the Florida Citrus Freeze for a fun frozen cocktail that blends Florida Can 'Orlando Orange' Vodka, and Peach Schnapps with a tasty orange puree.
I loved both of these drinks, the peach schnapps in the Florida Citrus Freeze mellows out the bright orangey flavor to create a more rounded beverage. You can absolutely taste the alcohol in this one though, which makes it a great drink for sipping while relaxing in a chair on the dock.
