Fountains of Imagination

There are spots scattered around Disney Parks and resorts that not only provide their section of the park with themed atmosphere, but also have the effect of bringing people together. The most beloved of these places may be the jumping fountains outside of the Imagination Pavilion.

The landscape of Imagination may just seem like layers of cement and steele to some, it could be considered cold and utilitarian. However if you use your imagination you will discover these fountains not only spark the imagination of the children that try to catch the spritely streams that bounce through the setting, but capture the imagination of adults who suddenly become little kids playing in their back yard sprinklers again.

From the upside down waterfall that welcomes you and beckons guests to come closer, to the dancing balls of water on top that bounce in unison patterns and tease each other to play on, everything glimmers in the sun with a crystal brilliance. Finally guests find their way to the jumping water pods, which race and leap about the pavilion.

This delightful feature has been a fun retreat in Epcot since it opened in 1982 and has a way of bringing guests together. Everyone joins in the fun, laughing and playing with the water as it creates a refreshing and creative environment. But don't take my word for it, check out this YouTube Video from "My Disney HD Views."

For me the fountain courtyard of Imagination is truly at it's most beautiful after dark, when the waters take on a rainbow of magical color as they laugh and play far into the nights. Does this spark your imagination? Do you stop and play with the water? Leave a comment and let me know!

I think the whole area is great fun, but so many people just walk right by!
