You've been spending a great day at Disney's Hollywood Studios, it's getting warm, crowds are getting bigger, pretty soon you and your family are hot, tired, and looking for a great place to duck out of the crowds and see a great show. head on over to Muppet*Vision 3D, for a fun romp with Jim Henson's original Muppets!
This isn't just somewhere to rest your weary feet, because this faithful re-creation of the Muppet theater also boasts an incredible show that promises to remind you of why you loved the Muppets as a kid and why you wanted to show your kids how cool the Muppets were. Running a total of almost thirty minutes in length, this air conditioned retreat is just what the doctor ordered. The fun twelve minute pre-show set up on a series of overhead monitors can easily hold the attention of anyone in the room on its own, it's not only entertaining but sets up a wonderful feeling of what is to come. Guests then move from the pre-show lobby into the main theater, and as the lights go down and the 3-D show begins, the jokes and puns come non-stop...and so does the laughter.
Muppet*Vision 3D opens on Kermit the Frog giving guests a tour of Muppet Labs and two of the most iconic characters; Professor Bunsen Honeydew and his accident prone assistant Beaker introduce a brand new character to the audience. The new character, Waldo C. Graphic,, embodies the spirit of 3-D and helps to give the show more than just the standard re-creation of the Muppet TV show.
Not only does Muppet*Vision 3D include film, but the show incorporates Audio-Animatronics and 4D special effects that bring the house down, and immerse you into the wacky world of the Muppets with squirts of water, blasts of air and real soap bubbles. The show moves well with appearances from Miss Piggy (who attempts to take center stage in a solo song) to Sam the eagle (who also seems unable to keep the Muppet hijinks from getting in his way) and so many more in between. Even the Swedish Chef and Statler and Waldorff share their two cents with the crowd.
In the end, this is a wonderful show to bring your kids or even to just go see by yourself and remember all the fun you had growing up with a franchise that is as well loved as the Disney brand itself.
Thanks so much to Erik H. for this guest post on Muppet*Vision 3D! A long time Muppet fan, this is a must for his trips to Disney Hollywood Studios. Are you a fan of Muppet*Vision 3D? Leave a comment and let us know what your favorite part is!

This is my very favorite thing to do in HS. I have seen it literally 20 plus times, but I laugh every time at something. The subtle humor is hysterical. Even the preshow is a hoot. :)

A must do for all trips! I still laugh at all the jokes.
Any inklings open whether they plan to change much with the refurb in August/September? Or just a little refresh?

The TA document that lists refurbs says "Aug. 6"Sept. 2, 2013: Muppet*Vision 3D will be closed for refurbishment." but other than that I don't have much information.
I'm actually hearing some rumors that we could possibly lose the attraction all together if one of the Star Wars enhancements goes through it could take that entire area all the way through Sci Fi drive in. That's total speculation though, Disney has more than one expansion option that is being looked at. We'll see what happens!

Muppet Vision 3D is one of my favorite attractions. But, it is quite vintage. It would be great if the attraction gets a 21st Century upgrade....with the cute schtick and jokes but with an updated look, 3D effects, theater visuals, etc. Long live Kermit and the Gang!

Of all the classic (translation--made before 2000) 3d attractions, this one is my favorite. First of all, you can't beat the Muppets. Then you have the fact that it's pure sillyness, which I think is fantastic. Kudos to this show for not trying to scare the little ones. Also, the pre-show is just as funny as the main production.
My favorite part is probably an uncommon choice...Kermit coming into the audience on the fire truck ladder at the very end of the show. Waldo gets the runner-up moment, but I'm not sure if it's him bouncing on peoples' heads or him morphing into Mickey at the very, very end and saying no one will recognize him.
