Disney Dining without reservations? I would have never recommended that in the past, but in came 2020 like a year long hurricane and Disney fans hitting the Parks and Resorts are learning brand new strategies for eating. Sure, for many people these techniques are old hat, but if you've been trained for 180-day reservations and the Disney Dining Plan I've got some tips to keep your tummy full and How To Eat At Walt Disney World Without Reservations.
Enjoy Quick Service Restaurants
The Quick-Service game at Disney Parks is strong and guests rarely complain that they are limited to hots dogs and hamburgers. Though, at Disney those can be pretty fabulous... I'm looking at your Casey's Corner. Disney Parks have a wide variety of options that include healthy and delicious choices. Be sure to use Mobile Ordering in the MyDisneyExperience App for fast pick-up and contactless payment.
Walk-up Seating
While guests could always check in at the podium of a table service restaurant to see if any seating was available, a new feature has popped up in MyDisneyExperience App that lets guests check for themselves online before heading to the Restaurant. It's still only available at a few restaurants, but users have been loving this new option.
Pack A Picnic or Cook In Your Room
When I was a child and we drove to Walt Disney World we always kept a cooler and basket full of sandwich stuff in the room. Guests are allowed to bring food into the Disney Parks and packing your own lunch can save lots of money. These days I've been known to whip up a fast meal in the kitchen of our DVC room. We fill the fridge with comfort foods and healthy choices.
Dine Off Property
The Orlando area has a thriving food scene outside of the Theme Parks as well. Many families choose to dine off-property for easier access and lower prices than they can find at Walt Disney World.
Running from Aug. 28 through Oct. 4, 2020 it's Orlando's Magical Dining Month! This is your chance to enjoy a three-course, prix-fixe dinners at some of Orlando's best restaurants for just $35 per person, and it all goes to support a worthy cause.
Eat at Lounge
Once the restaurant scene is back in full swing at Walt Disney World, guests will once again be able to enjoy some fantastic meals in Disney's Lounges. Some fan favorite lounges to eat at include the Tune-In Lounge and Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Tutto Gusto at Epcot, and The Crews Cup at Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
