You know the routine. Arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios for rope drop, and once you're through the gates it's time for the Toy Story Sprint as you run (or walk really fast) to Pixar Place, home of Toy Story Midway Mania.
Once you reach your destination, if the queue isn't too long you'll hop in line for the first ride of the day after obtaining FastPasses for a ride later in day. We've all done the Toy Story Sprint at one time or another during our Walt Disney World vacation, and it's so worth it.
Toy Story Midway Mania is one of the must-ride attractions at Walt Disney World. Some might say that it ranks up there with Soarin' and Test Track as can't-miss attractions. We just think it's too fun to pass up no matter what.
As you enter Toy Story Midway Mania, you find that you're in the middle of Andy's room (and you're also "toy size"). Guests are considered the honorary toys in this attraction and the story is that the Toy Story Midway Games Set is Andy's newest toy that all the other toys want to play with.
Andy isn't around and the toys have set up the game and they're asking you to join in the fun. In Andy's room queue you're surrounded by classic toys including Candyland, Viewmaster discs, drawings, and a Scrabble board (look up!).
Another fun part of the queue is the Mr. Potato Head Boardwalk Barker. This audio-animatronic is truly the highlight of waiting in line for the attraction. He sings, talks, and moves in ways that no other audio-animatronic in the parks can.
Step right up to Mr. Potato Head as you're passing time in the queue and you're guaranteed a few good laughs. (A fun bit of trivia: Mr. Potato Head has more dialogue than any other audio-animatronic figure ever created for a Disney Park. Now that's one special potato!)
After the fun in the queue, it's time to board your modern day carnival ride tram, don your 3D glasses, and get ready to aim your spring-action shooter!
Toy Story Midway Mania gives guests the chance to try their skills at five different carnival-style games presented in 3D. After you finish each game, the carnival tram spins you around and takes you to the next game. Part of the fun of the attraction is challenging your friends and family to beat your score!
The games for Toy Story Midway Mania are: Hamm & Eggs, Rex & Trixie's Dino Darts, Green Army Men Shoot Camp, Buzz Lightyear's Flying Tossers, and Woody's Rootin' Tootin' Shootin' Gallery. The concept for each game is about the same " you're using the spring-action shooter to knock down barnyard animals, pop balloons, break plates, toss rings, or shoot darts.
But what makes this 3D attraction a little more special are the 4D effects including air blasts or water sprays. And then there are the points you're scoring as you hit the mark. Just remember the harder-to-hit targets are worth more points. The points are posted after each game and your final score is tallied and displayed.
This is one of those attractions that leaves you wanting to hop back in line as soon as it's over. And if the queue isn't too long, that's a perfectly acceptable plan.

Trixie's Dino Darts used to be my favorite, but now that I'm getting more skilled at Buzz Lightyear's Flying Tossers, that one is quickly climbing the list!!

This is the BEST RIDE EVER. And totally worth the Toy Story Sprint. I don't have a favorite game, I love them all.
