Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 3 Revealed

Hello Grown-ups! Time to check in once again with your favorite Disney superheroes; and what an incredible time the past week has been. Let's start with the slowly cooling news.

Last night, during Marvel's hit television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the official trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron officially released. Except that a couple days ago, the trailer was accidentally leaked in it's entirety. Whoops! Darn that Hydra. Marvel fanatics quickly began digging through it with a fine tooth comb to get every single tidbit we could. Take a look for yourself and see what you can pick up.

It's a much darker, grittier and unhappy movie for our Avengers... but when you put the most powerful beings in the world together, well not everything can be rainbows and unicorns. However this is only the beginning.

According to the Marvel Media Alert, since Iron Man first grabbed the attention of a new generation in his 2008 movie debut all ten films previously released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have opened at #1 in the domestic box office and collectively grossed over $7.1 billion world wide. Yesterday, Marvel officially released it's complete schedule for Phase 3 and it doesn't disappoint in the least. In fact, since this release, the internet has been a buzz as more and more news floods the Marvel fans non-stop. There are exciting things to come.

Marvel Phase 3: The Next Five Years Of Super Films

Here Ar The Release Dates For Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3:

  • 5/1/15 - Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • 7/17/15 - Ant-Man
  • 5/6/16 - Captain America: Civil War
  • 11/4/16 - Doctor Strange
  • 5/5/17 (previously dated 7/28/17) - Guardians of the Galaxy II
  • 7/28/17 - Thor: Ragnarok
  • 11/3/17 - Black Panther
  • 5/4/18 - Avengers: Infinity War Part I
  • 7/6/18 - Captain Marvel
  • 11/2/18 - Inhumans
  • 5/3/19 - Avengers: Infinity War Part II

I want to make a couple important notes, which have been updated during this media explosion. November of 2016 sees the appearance of Marvels supernatural world with Doctor Strange. Rumor has it the individual currently in talks to play this character is Benedict Cumberbatch of Sherlock fame. Coming November of 2017 is the first Marvel African American hero full length feature, Black Panther. And from the special event where phase 3 was released to the public, Chadwick Boseman was introduced as the King of Wakanda and he is slated to be introduced prior to his November release date as the Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War. The third huge hero development is releasing in July 2018 as Captain Marvel becomes the first female hero to gain her new own movie. Fear not, there will hopefully be plenty of chances to meet Captain Marvel as she exists as a member of the Avengers and a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Avengers: Infinity WarAvengers: Infinity War

Speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy, it is no surprise that on the heels of its summer success, the release date for the next installment has been moved up considerably. Originally slated for the end of July of 2017, Guardians has been moved up to May of that year and our third Thor movie now fills in that July release date. The Avengers are not to be outdone, as the Avengers: Infinity War not only has an official release date but it has two. The third movie will be divided in two, allowing for this story to span much longer screen time for a massive, hero epic.

This is an incredible time to be a Marvel fan and a comic book enthusiast. I cannot wait to see each and every one of these and share them with all of you. Just looking at this list, what story are you excited for? If you could pick your favorite Marvel character to get their own movie, who would it be? Leave your thoughts in the comments, we would love to know.
