Movie Buzz: "King of the Elves" and a 5th "Pirates"

Here's another round of movie buzz for my fellow Disney lovers, including a bit about a new animated film and a possible fifth return of Jack Sparrow.

First off, it looks like a project that was originally announced back in 2008 has received the go-ahead. Disney announced recently that they are moving forward with the animated feature "King of the Elves."

The story, based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, will tell the tale of a group of elves who are saved by a human from an evil troll and thus declare said human to be their king.

"Elves" was announced as a project alongside "WALL-E," "Tangled," and "Brave" in 2008 and was given a 2012 release date. Now Disney is anticipating the winter of 2013 for "King of the Elves" to be released.

In other movie news, there is a rumor floating around that there could be a fifth installment of the hugely successful "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. The Wrap is reporting series star Johnny Depp is close to signing a deal to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow for a fifth time out to sea. In addition, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has stated he is working on a fifth "Pirates" film, but won't go forward without Depp. Given the latest film's overall financial success, chances are looking good for a fifth addition to the series.

At present, neither Depp nor Disney is offering any comments about the possible fifth "Pirates."

I think Pirates needs a break. I loved Depp in the 4th, but that was it. I didnt care for the story. Was way to predictable. Unless they can do something awesome that brings it back like the first film, then I think they need to take a long break from it.

Agree completely with Mase.
#4 was a terrible story.
If they go with #5, hope it's better thought out.

The 4th ticked me off, too preachy. I don't mean to offend anyone there was voodoo and hoodoo and everything in-between in all the other movies then you have in this one (SPOILER ALERT) the Spanish as the big bad Catholics literally walking in saying "This is bad we must destroy it," than walking out untouched what the heck did that have to do with ANYTHING. So much potential wasted.I hope the 5th is better thought out and actually use the characters vs just throw them in as an after thought.
