Our Favorite Grab-and-Go Breakfast Items at Walt Disney World

Ah, breakfast. They say it's the most important meal of the day and when you're at Walt Disney World fueling up for a day at the parks, you better eat your Wheaties. OK, not really Wheaties, because ... gross. But you better plan on eating breakfast and we do mean something more than just a cup of coffee.

What is your favorite grab-and-go breakfast at Disney World? What is your favorite grab-and-go breakfast at Disney World?

But, you protest, we MUST make it to rope drop/Soarin' Around the World/Frozen Ever After and we don't have time to sit down and eat. Never fear dear readers! We're here to share with you our favorite quicker-than-quick, grab-and-run-for-the-bus breakfast items. We aren't guaranteeing that they're all 100 percent "healthy" but they'll get you going without delay.

First on our list is the ubiquitous Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treat. Yes, these aren't a traditional grab-and-go breakfast but they ARE made with cereal so you've got that going for ya. We aren't suggesting starting your day with the chocolate dipped version, unless that's your favorite. You'll find these at your resort's quick service restaurants, the Main Street Confectionery, and other retail and quick service spots in the parks.

Another favorite quick breakfast item is a chocolate croissant and chocolate milk. Don't ask why, but when we're at Disney World our go-to breakfast drink is chocolate milk. It's so weird, we know. But really one of the chocolate croissants from the hotel's quick service bakery case and a bottle of chocolate milk and we're ready to GO!

If your first stop of the day happens to be Frozen Ever After in Epcot's Norway pavilion we suggest making a pit stop at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe and ordering School Bread. The bakery is now open at 9 a.m. (thank you Frozen Ever After) and since you'll be waiting in a long queue for the ride you'll have time to enjoy a quick breakfast.

We know that School Bread isn't everyone's favorite snack but we love the not-to-sweet treat filled with vanilla custard and topped with icing and coconut. If you aren't a fan of School Bread the bakery case at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe is full of other breakfast-worthy items too.

Speaking of bakeries in World Showcase, don't forget that Les Halles is also open at 9 a.m. in the France pavilion. This is a great spot to grab a quick walk-while-you-eat breakfast item too!

If you're in need of coffee AND something to eat you can always stop by Starbucks now that each theme park is home to its very own shop.

Need something more than a pastry to start your day? We like the Starbucks breakfast sandwiches paired with a Venti Skinny Caramel Macchiato. Our favorite is the Bacon and Gouda Breakfast Sandwich: it's just enough to keep us filled until lunch. You'll also find a great selection of other sandwiches and pastries (and yes, even cupcakes if that's your breakfast of choice) at Starbucks.

Some of our other favorite quick breakfast choices include yogurt (or yogurt parfaits), the cinnamon roll from Gaston's Tavern (even though you really should sit while eating this one), and the Strawberry Oat Bar from the Main Street Confectionery. And don't forget about Sunshine Seasons in Epcot's The Land pavilion - it's another great spot for a quick bite before heading to the queue for Soarin' Around the World.

I can't handle all that sweet in the morning, so I usually grab a breakfast sandwich, or a bagel and cream cheese. Earl of Sandwich has some really yummy breakfasts, which is great if you're staying at Saratoga Springs.
