It's time to head back down the rabbit hole.

Production has started on Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Tim Burton's 2010 live-action Alice in Wonderland.

Stars from the original film including Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway are slated to return to their roles as the Mad Hatter, Alice, the Red Queen, and the White Queen respectively.

New cast members include Sacha Baron Cohen as "Time," Rhys Ifans (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I and II) as Zanik Hightopp, the Mad Hatter's father, and Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey) as James Harcourt.

The film is being directed by James Bobin (Muppets Most Wanted), with a screenplay by Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast).

Tim Burton will serve as the executive producer, while Danny Elfman returns as the film's composer and Oscar winner Colleen Atwood is designing the film's costumes.

Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass is scheduled for theatrical release on May 27, 2016.
