It's hot. Your feet are aching. And your FastPass for Space Mountain isn't good for another 20 minutes. But you're in Tomorrowland with some time to kill, so what do you do? You head over to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and hop on board for a relaxing and breezy ride above the crowds.
It's a rare occasion when you'll find a long line for this attraction - normally you can take a quick ride up the moving walkway at Rocekttower Plaza and (carefully) hop in one of the trams. The tram will transport you behind the scenes of Tomorrowland, and while there is narration, it's not the same as it used to be (which saddens some hardcore Disney fans!) However, Mr. Tom Morrow is still being paged as you enter Space Mountain. Be sure to listen for it!
The tour of Tomorrowland is about a mile long and takes around 10 minutes to complete - provided the ride doesn't stop on the track. For those of you wondering how the trams move, there are no engines - it accelerates magnetically, so it's safe for the environment.
Along the way, riders will get a glimpse into Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Space Mountain. If you listen closely, you'll be able to hear riders screaming in terror on Space Mountain.
One of the best thing about riding the PeopleMover is you get a chance to sit back, relax and people watch! Keep an eye out for a dance party happening at the Tomorrowland stage near Space Mountain - you'll likely see Stich, Goofy and other characters dancing with guests. And look for Buzz Lightyear greeting guests near the Carousel of Progress.
This is an attraction where the scenery really does change depending on what time of day you ride. During the daytime hours it's great to see the people walking around and the cars zipping past at Tomorrowland Speedway. But at night when the castle is lit up - well that might be the very best time to ride the PeopleMover. It's quite a sight to see Cinderella's castle change colors as you glide by.
Whether you call it the TTA, the WEDway PeopleMover or the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover this attraction is a must-do for everyone at the Magic Kingdom. So sit back, relax and enjoy the futuristic ride! Thanks so much to Traci C. for this fantastic article and to Jeremy Thompson for use of his images through Creative Commons.

Haven't been to the parks for a while.....used to live nearby......as we have been Disney cruising for the past few years. I am delighted to know the WEDway is still there! Always one of my favorites for a cool, relaxing ride!

I really love the wedway people mover. It is in fact a ride to relax during a stressful day at MK.

I love this ride. I loved it since I first went to WDW. This is the 1st ride I go on when I get to Magic Kingdom. I drag everyone over there is get on it. I even dragged my girlfriend on it a few times.
