Toy Story Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort

As if there wasn't already enough exciting news about the Disney's Hollywood Studios Star Wars Expansion yesterday - Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek also created even more fabulous Disney Parks buzz with news with the announcement of Toy Story Land! Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort will be the location of this new land, inspired by the "Toy Story" film franchise.

Imagineer Kathy Mangum said that the positive fan response to Disney California's Adventure Cars Land expansion allowed the folks at Disney re-recognize the excitement that can be created with a totally immersive experience.

As all of you know, here in Anaheim, we've been quite successful with taking immersive experiences to a whole new level as we did with Cars Land. In fact, one of our favorite stories from opening day is that we overheard a little boy asking his mom, 'Is this where they filmed the Cars movie?'" said Mangum. "That's exactly how we want people to feel - like they've stepped onto the set of their favorite film ... like the quaint town of Radiator Springs or, in the case of 'Toy Story,' the wild and adventurous outdoors of Andy's backyard.

Take A Ride On Slinky Dog's Fun Family Coaster


When Toy Story Land opens guests will find themselves dropped in the middle of Andy's back yard, where they can play along with some of their favorite Toy Story toys. Two fun new attractions will be unique to Walt Disney World Resort, and a fan favorite becomes even greater:

• Slinky Dog's Family-friendly Roller Coaster - Climb on Slinky Dog's back for a fast and thrilling coaster adventure made for families to enjoy together.




• Alien Saucers Attraction - Everybody's favorite little green men will be taking guests for a spin in their very own flying saucers! But watch out for 'The Claw.'




• Toy Story Mania! 3rd Track - Word was already out that this fan favorite attraction would be getting a 3rd track. The exciting expansion means that even more Disney Guest will be able to experience this great game under Andy's bed.

Looking closely the "aerial view" concept art you can clearly see two new attractions that were discussed at the panel, but that leaves a couple of "mystery buildings" as well. Is that a Woody's Round-up set I see? Do I spy an Al's Toy Barn location? And is it just me, or are those tables with umbrellas across from the Alien Saucers? Perhaps a new restaurant or re-theming of Studio Catering? Only time will tell.
