Transitions Optical Signs Agreement to Sponsor Signature Events at Walt Disney World Resort

Several signature events at the Walt Disney World Resort have a new sponsor.

Transitions Optical Inc. recently signed an agreement with the Walt Disney World Resort to become a sponsor of several events including the runDisney series, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and the Festival of the Masters in Downtown Disney.

The company will also be sponsoring the Atlanta Braves spring training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The sponsorship agreement is meant to encourage wearers of prescription eyeglasses to enhance their visual experiences with Transitions(r) adaptive lenses(tm).

Disney guests at the signature events that are sponsored by Transitions will have an opportunity to learn more about the line of products. Those guests who wear prescription lenses will also have a chance to visit a designated area to get "trial decals" for their lenses so they can try Transitions lenses in their own prescriptions.

"We are excited to have Transitions Optical as a new sponsor at some of our signature events across Walt Disney World Resort," said Michael Cohen, vice president of alliance management for Walt Disney World Resort, in a press release. "Transitions will showcase its product and allow guests at some of our most popular events to try the Transitions Signature lenses in their own prescription."

Transitions will be bringing several brand ambassadors to the Disney events including Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Food Network star Chef Robert Irvine, and Grammy award winner Darius Rucker. The ambassadors will be interacting with guests at the events and sharing their Transitions stories.

Interesting! I used to have transitions lenses and I really hated them at Disney. They are fabulous when they change from going inside to outside, however the transition is MUCH slower when going from outside to inside. Going in and out of the attractions and shops so frequently at WDW, I always felt like I was in the dark because my glasses took so long to un-tint.

Hi, Kristen –

So sorry to hear that you weren’t happy with your experience wearing Transitions lenses while in Disney parks. As a representative for Transitions Optical, I wanted to let you know that our agreement with Walt Disney World Resort includes sponsorships of some of the must-see events throughout the year – where we hope to raise awareness among park guests about the importance of proper eye care and eyewear so that they can see their best to enjoy all of the sights in their lives, especially while they are spending time at Disney – whether that means wearing Transitions lenses or the type of eyewear that best fits their lifestyle. However, we have a number of products in our Transitions family of adaptive lenses that we’d recommend trying, including our new Transitions® Signature™ lenses, which as our most responsive everyday lenses get darker in more outdoor conditions and fade back to clear faster than our lenses have before. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer service team by visiting www.transitions.com if you have any additional concerns about your lenses or are interested in learning more about our latest technology.

Thanks!

Well hello there Transitions and thanks so much for stopping by Walt Disney World for Grown-ups. It's great to hear that the technology on your lenses continues to advance and that they are now even more responsive in fading back to clear. I will absolutely head on over and check out the details on your Transitions(r) Signature(tm) lenses.
