Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats Opens Its Doors On The Disney Dream

Guests on board the Disney Dream have a brand new spot to take a break and grab a signature snack that satisfies the sweet tooth of cruisers of all ages. Vanellope's Sweets and Treats debuted last week along with several other refurbished spaces that update the Dream and bring services more on par with its sister ship the Disney Fantasy.

Located on Deck 11 aft, cruisers strolling by are met with the smell of freshly baked waffle cones and candy wafting from the specialty store's entrances, which can be found both inside Cabanas restaurant and outside by the pool deck. Inspired by the whimsical candy land of the Sugar Rush race car game in Disney's fun adventure "Wreck-It Ralph," inside the playful sweet shop guests will find nods to the film, including a race track, gas pump-style gumball dispensers, Vanellope's race car and King Candy's throne.

Vanellope's Sweets and Treats serves up more than a dozen new flavors of handmade gelato and ice cream every day. Specialty fare includes Vanellope Von Schweetz's Race Kart Sundae, served in a super-cute souvenir container shaped like Vanellope's very own race car. Or - Guests can even go for a win of their own with Ralph's Family Challenge Sundae, it of course is presented in a posh trophy cup and made with eight heaping scoops of ice cream, eight toppings, whipped cream and a cherry. Challenge accepted Disney, challenge accepted.

In addition to the bountiful flavors of frosty treats, the sweet shop offers an assortment of candy, and fun novelty treats for purchase, with mix-and-match bulk candy costing $9.95 per pound. Sadly, unlike other ice cream locations onboard, the indulgent selection in Vanellope's is sonot included in the cost of your cruise, be careful when budgeting! A single scoop of ice cream will set you back $2.50, and gelatto $2.95, with prices increasing from there to the $19.95 for Ralph's Family Challenge Sundae.

Aside from this perfect place to make your sweet tooth sing, other new family spaces on the Disney Dream include updated kids clubs, with Star Wars and Disney Infinity experiences, and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Especially for grown-ups there's new outdoor adults only recreational space on Deck 13 called Satellite Falls which includes a circular splash pool with benches and a gently falling rain curtain that provides cool comfort.
