Walt Disney World's Best Holiday Resort [Facebook Fans]

'Tis the season for Holiday Fun! We polled our Facebook Fans to Find out what they think are the best Disney Resorts to stay at during the Winter Holidays. Our run away winner was Disney's Wilderness Lodge! Grand Floridian and Pop Century had honorable mentions but the resort deemed best to spend your Disney Winter Vacation at is the one with a North woods mountain flair.

What makes a Wilderness Lodge Holiday so Special?

When you step into the Wilderness Lodge, decorated for the holidays, it's easy to forget that the warm Florida sunshine is just outside. Holiday carols play in the soaring eight-floor lobby atrium, which is decorated with lush pine boughs and twinkling lights. Red and green seem to be the most natural of color palates to adorn the naturally-worked ornaments on the giant lobby tree. A fire roars beneath the 82-foot high chimney and guests rock in chairs sipping away at hot chocolate. There's a festooned bridge over the hot spring that bubbles up off to the side of the cavernous space. A creek forms and runs out through the courtyard. Suddenly you realize that the only thing really missing in this winter wonderland is the snow.

Marie Acquaro-Gerg says "We love the peaceful feel of Disney's Wilderness Lodge all year however, during the holidays it is just so tranquil."

Kay M Mariutto thinks "Wilderness Lodge, gives you the cozy atmosphere of a mountain lodge while you are enjoying our wonderful Florida winter sunshine."

For some extra holiday magic, Deborah Ordoyne Authement suggests making a stop at Fort Wilderness! You can take the boat right from Wilderness Lodge. Deborah says that "[n]ot only are the decorations by Disney very home-like and magical, but the campers all decorate beyond your wildest dreams."

My husband and I spent our first WDW trip at the Beach Club the week before Thanksgiving last year. I was surprised that the holiday decorations were already up--and, as an added bonus, we got to watch them build the ginger bread carousel display. It smelled SO GOOD!

Honestly, I think I'd be happy to be at any of the on site resorts during the holiday season! After all, who wouldn't want to combine magical with festive???
