Weekly DVC Member Events at Walt Disney World

For a long time now the Disney Vacation Club has offered it's members a fun weekly event at Walt Disney World called Welcome Home Wednesday at Disney's BoardWalk Inn. Every Wednesdays inside the Atlantic Dance Hall from 2-3 p.m. Members gather together for a little fun, while they get to learn the lastest information about what's going on in DVC.

Recently the show debuted a whole new format that highlights what event planners have long understood about what makes these gatherings so popular. Carol Chukwu one of the Disney Vacation Club Cast Members behind the event said that "Members loved the opportunity to not just be part of the audience, but part of the show."

Popular Disney Vacation Club Character Deeveey See has retired back home to Wisconsin and the show is now hosted by two "long-lost relatives" (the quick-witted cousin you never knew you had and the bubbly niece you always wish you had) and staged in a backyard-picnic setting. Member families are invited to participate in a variety of home-spun games inspired by Disney Vacation Club Resorts and experiences. From "Surfer Says" to "Dress Like a Scotsman," the games are designed to be as family funny as they are family friendly. Along the way, the players and audience gain valuable Membership insights, enjoy refreshments and " perhaps most importantly " mingle with their Disney neighbors.

Welcome Home WednesdayIn addition to Welcome Home Wednesday, the DVC Members staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge can now participate twice a week in a resort specific Sundown Mingle at Jambo House. Reservations are required for the Jambo House soriee, so stop by the member desk in the lobby to reserve your spot! This new event is just one of the ways that DVC is trying to connect with it's membership and build a camaraderie that lasts and last.

Disney Vacation Club has released an exciting set of new perks for it's members including a 10% merchandise discounts and a deeply discounted Premium Annual Pass, and rumor has it that there's even more great stuff to come! More member events in the works as well, so if you're a Disney Vacation Club Member, or think that you might like to be, stay tuned and take a visit to our Disney Vacation Club Forum for all the latest information. The members there will be happy to welcome you home.

The new format is quite the improvement over the old. The previous version with Deevy just seemed forced while the new "relatives" just feels more natural and is flat out more amusing.

It's worth taking the time to go to these if you find yourself looking for a place to chill out for an hour or so in the middle of the week. You'll come away having been given snacks, a free hat, and maybe even some really nifty prizes (one guy won a year's worth of member fees).

Thanks for sharing with us Phil! I never seem to be able to make it to this, we usually are just arriving around that time. Glad to hear that the new show is fun, and year's worth of dues is a FANTASTIC prize!!
