Where To Hang Out With Winnie The Pooh at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Disney welcomed Winnie the Pooh into the Disney family in 1966. The beloved characters based upon the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne fit right in with Disney originals like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The full line of sequels, tv, clothing, books, and toys that followed have made Winnie the Pooh a household name and a cherished Disney childhood memory. So where can a fan of this "silly old bear" go to get some hunny pot love at Walt Disney World? We've got three spots in the Magic Kingdom made just for you.

Dining With Winnie The Pooh and Friends

Just off of Main Street U.S.A. is the Crystal Palace, a buffet style all you care to eat restaurant set in a beautiful turn of the century style conservatory. Inside you'll find Winnie the Pooh and Friends holding a Friendship Day Celebration - and you're invited! The Character meal is one of the most popular for dining in the Magic Kingdom and it is a fantastic place to start off your day. The food is good, and simple enough that even the pickiest eater should be able to find something to fill their tummy. Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore make the rounds, stopping by at each table for hugs, autographs, and pictures. Advanced Dining Reservations are highly recommended, and you can even book breakfast before the Park opens to get some stunning crowd free pictures of the Castle hub.

The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh Ride

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, opened at in Fantasyland Walt Disney World in the summer of 1999 and has been thrilling the toddler set ever since. At the beginning of the recent Fantasyland expansion, Pooh received a new interactive queue resembling the Hundred Acre Wood and designed to keep little ones occupied while an adult waits in line. One fun interactive addition is a wall of digital honey guests can draw in. I probably lingered here a little longer than most trying to create a masterpiece in honey. I freely admit, I have avoided this ride in protest since its debut - rest in peace Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. However last month I decided that it was high time that I give it a try.

The Many Adventures of Winnie is a typical Disney ride-thru attraction that passes through the pages of a storybook to immerse the Guest in familiar and much loved plots. In our hunny poy vehicle, we moved through scenes that include favorites from a Blustery Day, Pooh's House, Heffalumps and Woozles, A Rainy Place, and A Party for Pooh. It's always fun to visit with old friends and I had good time on the ride.

Character Meet & Greet

After a ride through the Hundred Acre Wood, don't forget to stop by the Winnie The Pooh Character Meet and Greet location that is adjacent to the ride. When my daughter and I stopped we were far we were the oldest two in line, but the Character interaction when we got to the front was stellar. Tigger even expressed his love for Katie's Disneybound outfit and joined her in some Peter Pan style crowing. It was fun, and totally worth the 10 minutes we spent in the queue for it.

One of my favorite characters! Last year we got to meet Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger in their Halloween costumes - that was really special.
