Whoopi Goldberg Narrates Epcot's Candlelight Processional [Video]

We've shared many videos with you this year of Disney's winter celebrations, but Epcot's Candlelight Processional is a can't miss tradition of the Holiday Season for many a Disney fan. First performed in Disneyland in 1958 the Processional first made its way to the Walt Disney World Resort in 1971. It found its current home at the American Gardens Theatre in Epcot in 1994.

Though this video is much longer than what we usually post, we couldn't think of a better way to wish you a Merry Christmas than to share a full performance of the seasonal showcase that draws Guests of all ages to Epcot's America Gardens Theatre. This video (courtesy of Kevin Kosior via YouTube) has Whoopi Goldberg as the celebrity narrator who recounts the biblical story of a savior born to a virgin in Bethlehem. The Christmas story is highlighted with traditional choral pieces woven throughout by a 50 piece orchestra and massive choir that provide an inspirational performance with songs of hope, joy, and holiday cheer.

If you're starting to plan a trip to Walt Disney World for the 2015 holiday season, we here at Walt Disney World for Grown-ups highly recommend leaving time for a performance in your plans. Epcot's Candlelight Processional runs each year from the Friday after Thanksgiving until December 30. A star-studded array of celebrity narrators take turns throughout the season reading the story of Christmas. Regular narrators include Whoopi Goldberg, Jodi Benson, Neil Patrick Harris, Levar Burton, and Marlee Matlin, just to name a few.

On behalf of the entire staff at Walt Disney World for Grown-ups, we wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with love and joy. We're so happy to have each and every one of our readers to share our love of all things Disney with.
