‘Walt Disney’ to Premiere on ‘American Experience’ on PBS in 2015

PBS has announced a new four-hour, two-night film exploring the life and legacy of Walt Disney.

The film, Walt Disney, will premiere in 2015 on American Experience.

Walt Disney is being produced and directed by Sarah Colt (Henry Ford, RFK) and was written by Mark Zwonitzer (JFK, Triangle Fire).

Vinylmation Series Park Starz 3 Artists to Meet Fans on June 27 at D-Street in Downtown Disney

The newest Vinylmation set, the Park Starz 3 series, was recently released and the artists behind the series are ready to meet their fans.

The three Disney Design Group artists, Thomas Scott, Casey Jones, and Caley Hicks, are participating in a meet-and-greet and signing event on June 27 at D-Street in Downtown Disney from 5-6 p.m.

Summer of 2014 Brings New Magic to Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort

This summer promises to be one for the memory books for guests at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Summer officially kicks off at Disney on May 23 with the bi-coastal Rock Your Disney Side: 24 Hours party at the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure. This 24-hour party starts at 6 a.m. on May 23 and ends at 6 a.m. May 24 local time.

Disney Infinity Showing Strong Early Sales

Disney Infinity was released a little more than a month ago and is on its way to becoming a hit.

Close to 294,000 starter kits were sold in the month of August, according to stats released by a market research firm.

In Disney Infinity, players can mix and match their favorite Disney characters and those characters come to life and play together in a virtual "toy box." Players can build and customize their own virtual worlds using characters, settings, vehicles, and more.

News Tidbits: RFID Locks and Ralph Meet and Greet

Here are a couple of news tidbits from the happiest place on earth:

First up, the guest room locks at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are getting a new technological makeover. Currently, news out of WDW has it the resort has started converting door locks to the new RFID locking method. RFID locks will enable guests to enter their rooms with just a touch - no card insertion needed. Right now, it looks like it will take about a month before the new lock work is completed.
