And For Every Room, An Ocean View

It truly is the magic of Disney. Somehow, Disney Imagineers have made every single cabin on the new Disney Dream an ocean-view cabin including those on the inside.

Disney Dream Christened

It was a day of magic for Disney Cruise Line's long-awaited newest ship. January 19 saw the Disney Dream christened in a lavish and grand ceremony which featured celebrities, top Disney executives and the Mouse himself.

Multi-talented actress and singer Jennifer Hudson was on hand as the Dream's godmother. A very fitting choice was Ms. Hudson as her Oscar- and Grammy-winning career started in 2003 aboard the Dream's sister ship, the Wonder.

Disney Dream Officially Becomes a Disney Ship

Meyer Werft, the German company that is built the ship, has officially handed the Disney Dream over to Disney in a "traditional maritime ceremony." The flag of the company was lowered and replaced with the Disney flag to signify the ship's change of ownership.

The ship will be captained by Tom Forberg, who has been with Disney Cruise Lines for fifteen years. In fact Forberg launched both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and is no stranger to sailing on a new Disney vessel.

Disney Dream Lands in Hamburg, Germany

The newest Disney cruise ship, the Disney Dream, arrived in the port of Hamburg, Germany, at 3am local time on November 22nd, 2010. Most recently, the ship has been moving along the River Ems to the North Sea, where it's been undergoing sea trials during the testing phase of its construction process.

It will be held in dry dock this week, and move on next to Bremerhaven where it will be delivered (officially) to Disney on December 9th. There, final supplies will be loaded onto the ship and crew members will join up with the ship for its final sail to Port Canaveral, FL., where it's scheduled to arrive just after the New Year.

10 Reasons A Disney Cruise Is Worth The Cost

It is not a secret that going on a Disney Cruise is expensive. I find that for my family, the cost is comparable to staying in a deluxe Walt Disney World resort with the deluxe dining plan. When you compare it with other cruise lines on a night by night price point, you may well think they have lost their minds. I've been on other cruise lines, and they were nice enough, but in this article I'm going to share 10 reasons I think sailing with the Disney Cruise Line is completely worth the cost.

Beauty And The Beast Debuts At Sea On The Disney Dream

Setting sail with the Disney Cruise Line is a special experience that is full of enchanting experiences that live up to all our vacation expectations. With a world of wonderful ports and excursions at its disposal, once might be surprised that some of my favorite experiences onboard have been the original broadway-style productions running nightly. After years of planning, and practice, the Disney Dream has debuted a brand new musical extravaganza that takes a tale as old as time to a whole new venue.

My Five Favorite Things About The Disney Cruise Line

I've been dreaming of going back to sea, as tends to happen this time of year. If like me you yearn to slow down and relax while soaking up some serious tropical sun, maybe it's time you take a Disney Cruise. Disney Cruise Line: Deluxe Inside Cabin on the Disney Dream

When planning to take a Disney Cruise, one of the first things that travelers need to think about is their cabin space. What type of cabin should you book? Do you have to have an ocean view, or would it be OK to book on the inside? Cruise ships are famous for their tight quarters, and even though Disney's standard rooms are the largest in the industry, one should give a long hard thought to their stateroom needs. I like having my space, so I'll admit I was nervous when I booked onto my most recent Disney Cruise.

Very Merrytime Christmas By The Numbers

It's the hap-happiest time of the year and Walt Disney World is known by it's fans to decorate like no place else with garland, wreaths, twinkling lights and glitter. But what does a Disney holiday look like at sea? Just like on land the amazing elves that work with Disney's Enchanted Florist go to work and transform Disney Cruise Line ships into true winter wonderlands during the holidays.

Chocolate & Liquor Tasting On The Disney Dream

The enrichment series on the Disney Cruise Line is one of my favorite things about taking a Disney Cruise. Every time I show up for a class or seminar I know that I will come away with some new piece of knowledge to tickle my Disney loving heart. A couple of weeks ago I posted about the fun Mixology Class my daughter and I participated in, but we didn't stop there.

Why The Disney Cruise Line Is Made For Grown-ups

People often give me a puzzled stare when they hear that I'm headed off to sea for a Disney Cruise, without my kids. In their heads the ships are only suited a family vacation, they assume that Disney's ships are crowded, loud, and over-run with kids - they couldn't be more wrong. In creating the ultimate family cruise line, Disney's planning also gave way to the perfect grown-up retreat.
