Global Sing-Along Planned as Disney Parks Celebrates 50th Anniversary of ‘it’s a small world’

The classic Disney Parks attraction 'it's a small world' is celebrating its 50th anniversary and fans can join in the celebration through a global sing-along.

Disney created the website SmallWorld50.com as a "global hub" of music and harmony where guests can record videos of themselves singing the attraction's theme song. Guests can also create virtual 'it's a small world' dolls to benefit UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund).

April Merchandise Events Planned for Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort has announced a full slate of special merchandise events for this month.

Spring is in full bloom at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, and through April 6 guests can get a peek at the Fairy Houses being built around the World Showcase promenade. And through May 18, guests at the Festival have a chance to meet with representatives from Rinse Bath and Body Co. to learn all about the products.

MyMagic+ Continuing to Transform Walt Disney World Experience for Guests

The Walt Disney World Resort is still in the midst of the "test and adjust" phase of MyMagic+ but guests have been able to take advantage of some changes brought about by MyMagic+.

The MyDisneyExperience.com mobile app and website allows guests to plan their vacation at home and make changes on the go in the parks. The app features itinerary tools and gives guests the ability to scheduled FastPass+ reservations in advance or on the day of their visit.

Disney Changes Policy Regarding Upgrades to Third-Party Tickets

Following the recent ticket price increase at the Walt Disney World Resort, guests are finding that they can no longer upgrade third-party tickets without incurring additional charges.

According to an update at AllEars.net, "third-party tickets can no longer be upgraded to passes at a pro-rated rate, have days added on, or have options added at a discount."

Disney Parks Blog Offering Makeup Tutorials for the Beautifully Disney Line of Cosmetics

Earlier this year the Beautifully Disney line of cosmetics introduced its fifth collection, the Pop of Minnie collection.

Pop of Minnie channels 1960s Mod pop art and the line is all about adding color to classic looks. Even the packaging is pop art inspired.

This latest Beautifully Disney collection features eye shadow, nail polish, and lip gloss in addition to accessories such as an eyelash curler, brush set, and manicure set. Also debuting this spring are character and non-character long-wearing nail appliques.

Disney Lobbying for Stronger Protection against Theme Park Ticket Fraud as it Relates to MagicBands

Theme park ticket fraud is an issue in Central Florida, home to some of the biggest theme parks in the world.

And Walt Disney World is lobbying for stronger penalties when it comes to fraud, in addition to stronger protections to apply to the MagicBands.

Under current Florida law it is illegal for someone to resell a multi-park or multi-day theme park ticket after it has been used once. However, the law requires the phrase "non-transferable; must be used by the same person on all days" to be on the ticket.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Encourages Family Time with New Contest

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has teamed up with KaBOOM! for a new contest that encourages families to spend time together.

America's Most Playful Family Contest is giving families a chance to share how they spend time together. The grand prize winner will receive a trip for four to the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort.

Several Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will No Longer Offer Boat Rentals for Guests

Guests at several Walt Disney World Resort hotels will no longer be able to rent Sea Raycers, mouse boats, or pontoon boats for recreation purposes.

As of March 2 these watercraft are no longer available at Port Orleans Riverside, Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, and Caribbean Beach.

Braille Menus to Be Available for Guests at Select Restaurants in Disney World and Disneyland

Beginning March 1, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will be offering Braille menus for guests with visual disabilities.
