Three Disney Cruise Line Ships to Sail from Port Canaveral Beginning in January

Starting in January, three Disney Cruise Line ships will be sailing from Port Canaveral giving guests even more options when it comes to cruising with Disney.

The Disney Magic will begin sailing 3- and 4-night cruises from Port Canaveral on January 2. The Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy are already sailing from the port. The Dream sails on 3- and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Fantasy visits the Caribbean on 7-night cruises.

Nikon Named as the Official Camera of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland

The Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have a new official camera.

Last month, Nikon and Disney announced a multi-year alliance that named the camera brand as the official camera for the resorts.

The agreement means that Nikon will have branded "Picture Spots" throughout the theme parks at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, giving guests the chance to take their vacation pictures as ideal photographic locations.

Walt Disney World Resort Park Entrances Are Now Turnstile Free

The Magic Kingdom reached an important milestone at the end of November when the park's last touch point entry system was unveiled.

With the unveiling at the Magic Kingdom means that all Walt Disney World Resort park entrances are now turnstile free.

Earlier this year, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon was the first park at the Walt Disney World Resort to see the turnstiles switched out for touch point entries. Throughout the year the other parks have had their turnstiles replaced by touch point systems.

University of Central Florida Honors President of Walt Disney World Resort

Walt Disney World Resort president George A. Kalogridis was recently awarded the 2013 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Central Florida.

Kalogridis graduated from UCF in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.

The award is the highest honor the university gives to its graduates and acknowledges alumni for professional achievements, volunteer work with the university, and community service.

Festival of the Seasons Kicks Off at Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort

The holiday season is in full swing at Downtown Disney with the start of the annual Festival of the Seasons.

The Festival of the Seasons runs through December 30 and brings special holiday touches to the Downtown Disney area, complete with twinkling lights, a Christmas tree, live entertainment, and even Santa Claus.

The exit door at the Walt Disney Company's theme park division has been busy lately. In the past few weeks at least five executives have left, either due to new jobs or layoffs.

These former Disney executives have more than 70 years of combined experience with Disney Parks and Resorts.

Responsibility for MyMagic+ Turned Over to Disney World President George A. Kalogridis

As the full launch of the MyMagic+ project nears, the Walt Disney Company has turned over responsibility of the project to Disney World President George A. Kalogridis.

Kalogridis will have day-to-day oversight on the project and will be in charge of implementing it. Up until this move the project had been led since 2009 by Nick Franklin, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts' executive vice president for next generation experience.
