7 Things Not To Miss At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has been my favorite hotel for as long as I can remember. The spirit of the south seas fills the air and it's easy to get lost in the tropical theme, swept away on a trade wind, transported to another time and place. Even when I'm not staying at the Polynesian, a stop to enjoy some of the traditional delights is always on my to do list while visiting Walt Disney World. Read on to discover 7 things not to miss at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

Kick Back With A Rose Gold Sunset Margarita At The Barefoot Pool Bar

Summer 2019 Is Disney's season of the rose gold snacks, and you can find these edible delights in one form or another all across property. Most of the pretty pink treats are of the sugary cupcake variety, but I found one that's got a little more grown-up kick to it. The Barefoot Pool Bar at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is popular with Disney fans for its reliably friendly bar tenders and pleasing tropical cocktails.

The Heart of Te Fiti At Pineapple Lanai

One of my favorite things about staying at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is the easy access to Dole Whip without having to make a trip into a Park. That's because just outside the back door of the Great Ceremonial House is a wonderful little walk-up window and patio called the Pineapple Lanai that serves nothing but Dole Whip. This summer, in honor of the far-away place, Pineapple Lanai is serving up the Heart of Te Fiti.

Whimsical Fun Await At Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

Tucked away in a back hall of the Great Ceremonial House at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, guests will find an unassuming door that leads to a truly enchanted bar. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto is a tiki hideaway that transports guests to a fanciful the South Seas retreat where anything can happen. My daughter and I stopped by on our last trip to enjoy the whimsical fun served-up by the crew.

Top Walt Disney World Hotels When You Have Teens That Want To Roam

As your kids get older, it's natural for a family trip to Walt Disney World takes on a different air and feel. While Guests under the age of 14 are required to have supervision, teens over 14 can stretch their wings and explore the property a little further on their own. When my kids were that age, it was important to that we stayed at a resort on property that allowed them more than enough fairly nearby entertainment options when I let them go off on their own.

The Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

When you think about the ultimate Disney snacks, you may think Turkey Legs, or Churros. But when my mind wanders to the most delicious and magical treats on my list, I go straight for the Dole Whip. This soft serve pineapple treat is the stuff of legends from coast to coast, and has achieved an almost cult-like status amongst regular Disney travelers as the must eat treat when you're passing though Adventureland.

A Few of our Favorite Cocktails and Drinks at Walt Disney World Resort

When you're visiting the Walt Disney World Resort it is very important to stay hydrated, especially in the hot summer months. But sometimes you just have to step away from the water and find a great grownup beverage. Something cold, maybe frozen, but definitely delicious.

Top 5 Things to Love about Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Several years ago I was lucky enough to spend a few days at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort (when it was still known and just the Polynesian) and I instantly fell in love. What’s On Your Disney Bucket List?

It's that time of year when everyone is making a list and checking it twice. Currently I have a lot of lists, but my Disney Bucket List is a work in progress. I've been visiting the Walt Disney World Resort since I was a wee little one (way back in 1974) and I'll admit that there are many, many things I have yet to experience at Disney World. A few years ago, after a family vacation, I decided to start writing down things I wanted to do on future visits. I suppose one could say I'm starting my Disney Bucket List.
