Refurbishment Project announced for the Magic Kingdom’s Central Plaza

One of the most congested areas at the Magic Kingdom, the Central Plaza, is about to go through a major refurbishment project.

Disney recently announced that the "hub" between the end of Main Street U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle is going to be expanded with several new elements including gardens, additional pathways, restaurant seating, and a special viewing area for fireworks.

Final "Magic, Memories" Show Slated for September 4

Those of you wishing to catch the projection-drive nighttime showing of "The Magic, the Memories and You" at Disney's Magic Kingdom have only a handful of days left to do so. The final showing is set for September 4.

"The Magic, the Memories and You" has been around since 2011. In what's become a kind of pre-show for the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks display, sixteen projectors turn Cinderella's Castle into a screen of sorts for pictures of that day's guests of the park.

Independence Day Offerings at Walt Disney World

It wouldn't be Independence Day without fireworks, and Disney's certainly got those covered this year. For those of you lucky enough to be in and around Walt Disney World on the 4th of July, here's a look at what Mickey and company are planning to help celebrate.

Magic Kingdom will be showing its "Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky" twice: July 3 and 4. This patriotic take on fireworks will light the up the night both dates at 9 p.m.

New Entertainment Fastpass To Be Tested At Magic Kingdom

Word out of Walt Disney World has it that the Magic Kingdom will be the spot for a new Fastpass trial this month. During March, Disney will be testing their famous Fastpass system with their nighttime entertainment.

Cast members will distribute the Fastpasses by hand to guests on random days in March between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Guests lucky enough to be a part of the experiment will be able to return to the Castle hub at the time printed on the Fastpass. From there, the cast members will be on hand to help direct guests in order to watch that night's fireworks show or nighttime parade.

Parts of "Very Merry" Comes To Magic Kingdom Now Through New Year's

Looks like Walt Disney World is incoporating some elements from the after-hours, special-ticket-required Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party into its daytime Magic Kingdom schedule now through New Year's. Guests braving the crowds at the Magic Kingdom this year can now catch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and "Holiday Wishes," a nighttime fireworks display.

Make Plans Now For Ringing in 2012 At Walt Disney World

As the familiar song goes, what are you doing New Year's Eve? How about ringing in 2012 at Walt Disney World? Recently, Disney put out the scoop on what to expect at the parks during the last few hours of 2011.

The Magic Kingdom will celebrate by offering two fireworks shows on December 31, 2011: a holiday-themed "Wishes" show at 8:30 p.m. and a 11:15 p.m. showing of "Fantasy in the Sky." It looks like a countdown to the new year is also planned.

Epcot is holding two "Illuminations" for guests at 7:00 p.m. and 11:42 p.m. (yep, the time is that specific) to help ring in 2012.
