Disney Offers Sneak Preview of Merchandise for 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon

If you're headed to Walt Disney World for the 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend either to run or cheer for friends and family there's a new line of merchandise for the race and Disney recently gave guests a sneak preview. The merchandise includes apparel, pins, MagicBands, and the always popular Disney Dooney & Bourke handbags.

Fredison Costa of Brazil Wins Second Straight Walt Disney World Marathon

The 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon has come to a close and Brazilian runner Fredison Costa was the first to cross the finish line. This is the fourth win for Costa in the last five years. Brazilian runners dominated the finish line with Trindade Mateus coming in second; Joao Fonseca finished third and past Disney Marathon champion Adriano Bastos was fourth . Giovanna Martins of Brazil was the top female winner, finishing the marathon in 2:50:20.

runDisney has revealed the finisher medals for the 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and the medals feature design inspired by the film Frozen.

runDisney Announces Race Schedule for 2015-16 Season at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland

The official runDisney schedule for the 2015-16 race season has been released and it includes nine popular races.

The season kicks off with the 2015 Expedition Everest Challenge at Walt Disney World Resort on May 1-2, 2015. Registration for this race opens December 16, 2014.

The second race weekend on the schedule is the 2015 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend presented by PANDORA Jewelry at the Disneyland Resort on May 7-10, 2015. This event is already sold out.

2014 Walt Disney World Marathon Sells Out

Less than four months after registration opened, the 2014 Walt Disney World Marathon has sold out, making it one of the fastest marathon sell-outs in runDisney history.

More than 26,000 registered runners are set to participate in the Disney Marathon Weekend on January 8-12, 2014, with 13,500 signed up to run the 26.2 miles that make up the marathon.

With an interesting take on the medal art this year, each of the medals features a different Disney Princess giving it her all to race towards the finish line. Why More and More Women Are Signing Up to runDisney

Women-only running events (95% or greater female) are on the rise, with over 200 events in 2011. Women of all ages, all shapes and sizes, and all athletic abilities are coming together to take on the challenge of conquering a long distance run. There is a sense of camaraderie and a lack of inhibition at these events that have women flocking to run.

It has been quite an exciting few weeks in the world of runDisney. Race season officially began over Labor Day weekend with the Disneyland Half Marathon and Jimmy Gabrow set a new course record by winning the race in 1:05! Cars Land was the main focus of the weekend beginning with the Cars Land 5K Rally that finished with racers running down Route 66. Half marathoners also had the chance to run through Cars Land on their course, many through a sea of neon in the morning darkness.
