Haunted Mansion

Sitting up on the hill at the back of Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square is a stately mansion of Dutch revival design and gothic splendor. It's a style familiar to the 18th century Hudson River Valley with an elegant facade that hides something eerie. Guests are drawn through the park to it's haunting beauty, and if they listen carefully may even hear the howl of a wolf.

The Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland offers guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort a great new selection of new rides, shops, shows and eateries to spend their times enjoying. The Imagineering team created some truly enchanting environments for guests to enjoy like Storybook Circus and the Enchanted Forest. Yet, one of the most notable areas of all may in fact be some new bathrooms.

On a recent visit to the Magic Kingdom it was about 3 p.m. when I realized (1) I was starving and (2) I wasn't going to get anywhere near Casey's because Main Street was a mass of humanity thanks to the parade. As disappointed as I was to not be eating corn dog nuggets and fries with cheese, I had another less hectic location in mind. So, in an attempt to avoid the crowds my friend and I headed through the castle, walked past the very long lines at Peter Pan's Flight and it's a small world, turned the corner and then it hit us.

Once upon a time in Liberty Square there was a turnstile located at the exit of the Haunted Mansion. When the turnstile was removed the portion that anchored it to the ground still remained. A little piece of sawed off pipe that scared the ground of the exit, a scar that looked vaguely like a ring. Time went by and soon fans created a story to go along with the scar, and the rumor spread that it was the ring of the bride from the ride's attic.
