Bob Weis Named President of Walt Disney Imagineering

The Walt Disney Company announced late last week that Bob Weis would be taking over as president of Walt Disney Imagineering, replacing Bruce Vaughn. Weis was instrumental in the makeover of Disney California Adventure and was in charge of the Shanghai Disney project.

The theme of our recent Thanksgiving week family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort was "try new things." We dined at new-to-us restaurants, tried new drinks, rode new-to-some-of-us attractions, and enjoyed our first (and last) visit to The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The Gumdrop Holiday Cocktail at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'm not generally a fan of gumdrops, but when their spirit is invoked in cocktail form, sign me up for a taste test! Amongst the specialty cocktails currently being served up for the holidays at Disney's Hollywood Studios the Gumdrop just may be my favorite. A sweet and fruity concoction of Stoli Razberi Vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice, cranberry juices, and Sprite it's got all the makings of a super drinkable cocktail.

The numerous changes that Disney's Hollywood Studios has undergone in its brief 26-year history have only scratched the surface of what's in store for this park. From name changes to attraction changes and two whole new "lands" on the horizon, Michael Eisner's original idea for this park will barely exist as a shadow of it's former self five years from now.

Coffee at the Walt Disney World Resort used to mean a not-so-great cup of something resembling coffee but it wasn't exactly good. It was unlikely that many folks were overheard exclaiming "Wow!
