Disney CEO Bob Iger Takes The Ice Bucket Challenge And Throws Down The Gauntlet

Disney CEO Bob Iger proudly participated in the current "Ice Bucket Challenge" to raise awareness and funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Sweeping across the internet since July 29th - the Ice Bucket Challenge, is pretty simple in it's concept. If you're challenged, you have a mere 24 hours to dump a bucket of ice over your head and donate $10 to an ALS charity. If you refused the challenge, you have to donate $100 to the charity.

Disney Cruise Line Changing At-Sea Internet Packages to Data Allotment Plans

Guests sailing on a Disney Cruise Line ship within the next few weeks will see a change in the Internet packages offered on board.

Disney Cruise Line is transitioning their Connect@Sea Internet from per-minute plans to data allotment plans. The new plans will include a pay-as-you-go plan and a 1GB plan. This means, time on the Internet at sea will no longer be measured in minutes.

The Rumors Are Strong with This One – Is Star Wars Land Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

While it's just a rumor right now, there's a lot of chatter on the Internet that Star Wars Land is coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in the next five years.

Several sites have been reporting that Disney is moving forward with plans to build both Cars Land and Star Wars Land at DHS. There is no official word from Disney yet, and we want to stress that these are merely rumors at this point, but what juicy rumors they are!

News Tidbits: Bay Lake Tower Check-In and Typhoon Lagoon Wi-Fi

Here are a couple of recent news tidbits in and around Walt Disney World.

First up, some of you heading out to check-in at the Bay Lake Tower might find the process a bit easier. As of tomorrow, check-in at the Tower will be located in the Tower itself and not through the Contemporary Resort.

Wi-Fi Now Available at the Magic Kingdom

Back in March, Walt Disney World made high-speed wireless internet service available to those staying within its resorts. Now, Disney has taken the first step in making access to free wi-fi a reality within its parks: guests can now connect to the internet sans wires in the Magic Kingdom.

Wi-Fi Now Available At All Disney World Resorts

Wi-Fi has caught up to Disney. As of this month, all Walt Disney World resorts and hotels will have complimentary Wi-Fi high-speed internet access in certain areas.

Each resort (with the exception of Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground) will have Wi-Fi access at the following areas:

  • Porte Cochere
  • Main Lobby
  • Bus stops
  • Guest rooms
  • Feature Pool (one pool at each; specified for some resorts below)

Disney Reservation System To Be Unavailable February 23 & 27

Disney's reservation system will be undergoing enhancements for a large part of the day Thursday, February 23 that will hamper the ability for guests to make reservations and bookings. In addition, the system will also be down for a shorter period of time in the early morning of Monday, February 27.

Five Princess Dolls to Be Released for Sale on October 17

Apparently Disney Princess Designer Dolls are a hot commodity, and getting a hand on one of the first two issued has proved to be a bit challenging for some. The frustrations and issues surrounding shoppers' attempts to purchase the dolls has prompted Disney to release all remaining five dolls in Disney Stores on October 17 as well as issue a new release policy.
