Three-Day Charity Walk Planned for This Fall at the Walt Disney World Resort

This November the Walt Disney World Resort will, for the first time ever, be home to a three-day charity walk sponsored by For A Cause.

The Walk The World event is part of the A Walk Around The World Fundraising Walking Event series and is planned for November 14-18.

For A Cause is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that plans multi-day charity walks in vacation destinations. All participants are allowed to walk for the charity of their choice.

Events during runDisney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend are Quickly Filling Up

It's been a little more than a week since the registration for runDisney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend opened, and the events are quickly filling up.

Registration opened at noon on June 11 for all Princess Half Marathon events, and within a few hours the new-for-2014 Glass Slipper Challenge was sold out. As of press time, the Enchanted 10K was at 99 percent capacity while the Princess Half Marathon was at 65 percent capacity.

Track Completed for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at the Magic Kingdom

The last piece of track has been laid in place at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster in New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom.

The coaster, which is set to open in 2014, is an, indoor-and-outdoor coaster with cars that sway from side-to-side. It takes guests on a journey through the mine where the Seven Dwarfs spent their days digging for gems, and will feature music and characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Night of Joy Planned for September at the Walt Disney World Resort

This fall's 31st Night of Joy will feature two legends in Contemporary Christian music - Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith. The award-winning artists will be performing their own individual sets and then will play together for the first time.

Other artists scheduled for the event include MercyMe - returning for their sixth consecutive Night of Joy - and 2012 Grammy nominee TobyMac, Francesca Battistelli(pictured), Skillet, and Newboys.

A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas Sets Sail at the Magic Kingdom

A Pirate's Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas, the interactive game inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean film series has officially set sail at the Magic Kingdom. The quest is to save Adventureland while fending off the Royal Navy and Captain Barbossa.

Details Announced for runDisney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World

Princesses, it's time to find your tiara. runDisney has recently announced details and prices for the 2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World.

Race events include the Princess Half Marathon, the Royal Family 5K, the Enchanted 10K, the Glass Slipper Challenge, kids races, a pasta party, breakfast, and the Fit for a Princess Expo.

Unofficial Gay Day Merchandise Sold at Magic Kingdom During Annual Event

Despite its neutral stance on the annual Gay Days, Walt Disney World is selling merchandise that unofficially celebrates the event.

The items include designs incorporating rainbows, which is a symbol of the gay-pride movement. Products include red tank tops with a rainbow-colored Mickey Mouse head, a rainbow mug, a rainbow wallet, and Mickey Mouse Vinylmations in rainbow colors. These items were displayed with other rainbow items that are found year-round in the parks including pins and antenna toppers.

This week only you can be entertained by the spooky song stylings of the Cadaver Dans as they haunt Frontierland. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, head to the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon to enjoy the re-styled "The Happy Haunted Horseshoe." This special Limited Time Magic is fleeting though, so be sure to attend while the veil is thin.

This week's special Limited Time Magic was another extremely exclusive tour with a limited time sign up through the Disney Parks Blog. Guests lucky enough to secure a spot will be treated to a horticultural tour of the gardens of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
