D23 "Imagining Tomorrow, Today" Pavilion Teases Great Things To Come

D23 Expo has kicked off in Anaheim, California and even before the doors opened to fans exciting news about the future of Disney Parks and Resorts was revealed. A pavilion at Disney's ultimate fan convention entitled "Imagining Tomorrow, Today" shares a peek at what's in development at Disney Parks worldwide. Included in the preview are exhibits featuring new attractions in store for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Check it out.

Walt Disney Animation Studios released a new teaser trailer for the CG-animated film Moana starring Dwayne Johnson and newcomer Auli'I Cravalho. The film tells the story of an adventurous teenager, Moana, who is on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and save her people.

Dwayne Johnson to Star in Movie Based on Disney’s Jungle Cruise

Disney has announced plans for a live-action film based on the popular Jungle Cruise attraction and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been announced as the star of the as-yet-unnamed film. Johnson is also one of the stars of Disney's animated film Moana where he'll play the demigod Maui.

The Rock is Ready to Lend His Voice to Disney’s ‘Moana’

Disney's next animated film, Moana, has cast Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the voice of Maui, a Hawaiian demi-god.

Johnson tweeted out the news on December 3 saying, "Excited to star as "Maui" in Disney's next big animated musical, MOANA. Incredible story! **clears throat #TimeToSing."

Walt Disney Animation Studios Announces ‘Moana’

The next animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios has been announced and it is set in the ancient South Pacific.

Moana is described as a "sweeping CG-animated comedy-adventure about a spirited teenager on an impossible mission to fulfill her ancestors' quest."

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2016 and is being directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. This directing duo also worked on The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, and Aladdin.

One of my favorite things about staying at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is the easy access to Dole Whip without having to make a trip into a Park. That's because just outside the back door of the Great Ceremonial House is a wonderful little walk-up window and patio called the Pineapple Lanai that serves nothing but Dole Whip. This summer, in honor of the far-away place, Pineapple Lanai is serving up the Heart of Te Fiti.
