Walt Disney World Resort Launches All-New Twitter Account to Assist Guests

Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort have another tool at their fingertips to help them out in the theme parks. The newly-launched Twitter account @WDWToday is similar to the @DisneylandToday account and is designed to help guests in the parks.

Star Wars Half Marathon Announced for Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort is turning to the Dark Side. runDisney has announced an all-new half marathon weekend, the Star Wars Half Marathon: the Dark Side. The race pays homage to the dark side of the Force, and now the Disneyland Star Wars Half Marathon will be called "The Light Side."

Soarin’ Around the World Coming to Epcot in 2016

One of the most popular attractions at Epcot is getting an upgrade. Soarin' is set to become Soarin' Around the World sometime in 2016. The high-flying trip over California will be no more as guests will now get to "travel" around the world without needing a passport.

Reedy Creek Proposing to End Special Operations and Response Team

The Reedy Creek Improvement District, the county-level government agency that provides fire and rescue services to the Walt Disney World Resort, is proposing an end to its special operations and response team. The team is trained to rescue people from collapsed building among other jobs.

New Police Substation to be Built at Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort is building a $2.5 million substation for the Orange County Sheriff's Office. The new substation is scheduled to open in October. Currently the 36 deputies, 20 administrators and clerks, and seven detectives that serve Disney are housed in a fire station operated by Reedy Creek.

Next Phase in Disney Springs Transformation is the Town Center Area

As Downtown Disney continues to be transformed into Disney Springs, the next phase of the project is the Town Center. This new district is currently under construction in an area that was used for guest parking and will be home to many nationally-recognized retail shops, including large-scale retail stores.

Price of Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets Increased for Second Time in Less Than a Year

For the second time in less than a year, the Walt Disney World Resort has raised the price of admission for all four theme parks.

A one-day ticket for the Magic Kingdom will now cost $99 for guests age 10 and older. This $4 increase makes the Magic Kingdom the most expensive Disney Park.

Celebrate the New Year with Fine Dining and Fireworks at the Walt Disney World Resort

If you're ringing in 2014 at the Walt Disney World Resort, there are many magical and delicious ways to celebrate.

The Magic Kingdom will be presenting Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season at 9 p.m. on December 30 and 31, and there will be a special presentation of Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at 11:50 p.m. on both nights.

If you're spending New Year's Eve at the Magic Kingdom, there's a special ticket fireworks dinner and dessert party at the Tomorrowland Terrace.
