Celebrate Opening of Olypmics at Disney's Dolphin Hotel

Wish you had a place to go to experience Disney "magic" and the Summer Olympic Games together? The Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel has you covered: the hotel is planning a Summer Games Celebration for Friday, July 27.

Guests are free to come to the Dolphin's lobby for "gold medal" cookies and treats with a British theme while taking in the broadcast of the games' opening ceremonies from London.

Disney Has A New Monorail Voice

The next time you hop aboard one of the monorails around Walt Disney World, listen up. Recently, Disney elected to change the voice of the narrator on its monorail trains.

Magic Kingdom Worker Interview

Ever wanted to get the scoop on a Walt Disney World park from an insider's view? Recently, a cast member from the Magic Kingdom answered questions online during a "I Am A . . ." discussion at Reddit.com. The cast member states he/she works at the Magic Kingdom's main entrance turnstiles and also in "parade audience control;" in the past, the cast member has worked in merchanidse and at Toy Story Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

New Character Meet and Greet in Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has designated a new space for meeting characters within the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland. Guests can now catch up with their favorite personalities from the Hundred Acre Wood next to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Pooh and his friends used to greet guests near the Splash Mountain exit, but now make their greeting home near Pooh's attraction. In addition, Woody and Jessie of "Toy Story" fame will now be meeting up with guests at the Splash Mountain exit location (they were previously at the upper Splash Mountain gate).

Report Shows 16 Guests Injured at Walt Disney World

The first quarter for 2012 injury report is in, and its results show Walt Disney World had the highest number of reported guest injuries among central Florida's theme parks with sixteen.

It's worth noting, however, that this injury report includes any kind of medical-related incident that happened within the parks.

Walt Disney World Resort Receives New Tennis Lesson Provider

Earlier this month, Orlando Tennis Services, LLC was named as Walt Disney World Resort's new tennis lesson provider.

It looks like any WDW Resort guest will be able to take part in tennis lessons. The cost for lessons is $90 per hour, and guests need not own or bring their own equipment to receive lessons as it's provided. Tennis courts are available for lessons at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Board Walk Resort, Bay Lake Tower, Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Disney Vacation Club Members can receive a ten percent discount on lessons.

Cupcake Update

Usually, you don't think of "cupcakes" and "news" in the same sentence. But when there are two new cupcakes to be had at Walt Disney World, that means there are two reasons to do a news blurb on the sweet treats.

First up, the Pop Century resort has a new cupcake: the King. You guessed it, it's a tribute to the King himself - Elvis Presley. This new concoction features chocolate cake with a banana custard filling and peanut butter frosting. The finishing touch? None other than candied bacon and a chocolate drizzle.

Royal Plaza Hotel at Walt Disney World to Become a B Hotel

The Royal Plaza Hotel at Walt Disney World will soon be getting a makeover and a new name. Earlier this week, B Hotels & Resorts LLC announced they would make the Royal Plaza a B Hotel.

This will make the third B Hotel in Florida. The B Ocean Fort Lauderdale opened last year while the B Hotel South Beach is set to open early 2013. In addition, B Hotels & Resorts LLC are planning to start a full service budget chain of hotels called "b2." The first of this chain is expected to debut in Miami early next year.

A teenager was recently denied entrance to Disney's Animal Kingdom. The reason? She was dressed like Tinker Bell.

Walt Disney World Raises Ticket Prices

Visiting the happiest place on earth just got a bit pricier. At the end of last week, Disney raised ticket prices to its Walt Disney World parks.

Both single and multi-day passes were hit by the latest increase. A single day ticket to one of the Walt Disney World parks now stands at $89, a 4.7 percent increase from the previous price. Mutli-day tickets were also subject to the rise in prices and jumped up anywhere from five to sevent percent. Adding the "Park Hopper" option to the multi-day tickets rose by $2 and now stands at $57.

Take Aim at the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
