1 Bedroom Villas

We just got back from WDW and are going back in October for MNSSHP

We are a family of 5 and originally had BLT booked for Fri-Mon but I wanted to add a day and BLT had nothing the day before or after our original booking date. They gave us the option of another resort for one day then move to BLT (meanwhile being put on a wait list for BLT for one day) or just book at another resort for the entire stay, which I opted to do.

So, now we will be at SSR from Thurs. - Mon. in a one bedroom villa - which, according to the website, sleeps 4. Since we are a family of 5 of course I was concerned about this so I called member services and asked about it. I was told there is a king sized bed and a pull out sleeper sofa and therefore 5 people can stay there, Disney just does not provide bedding. For us, that's fine because the kids will be 3, 5 and 7 and will all fit on the sleeper sofa bed.

So, my question is, just how many people ARE allowed in a one bedroom? Is 4 the suggested and 5 the max? I wish I would of thought to ask this while on the phone! Before I call back I figured I'd ask here Wink

I'm beginning to regret the move to SSR - I want to try new places but the convenience of BLT for the MNSSHP was dumb to give up. Wonder if I can call AGAIN and switch back

I just got off the phone with member services - I am so impatient, lol

So, I just found out 5 is the max for one bedrooms that say sleeps 4.
When I booked, the only resort that was
available for the dates I want was SSR. I realize now it wasn't the best
decision - but staying one place for just one night and then moving
seemed so silly to me however being so close to MK for MNSSHP outweighs the
inconvenience of moving resorts.

So, I am now the one on a waitlist for Oct. 8-11 at BLT laugh I added a
night on to our ressies so we'll be at SSR Wed the 6th - Mon the 11th
unless BLT becomes available, then we go there from the 8th - 11th.

Live and learn! Can you tell I am a brand new DVC member?

I wonder, the rooms that state sleeps 5, can you add a 6th person? (just
like the rooms that sleep 4 but allow for a 5th?)

You sound just like me! I def think you made the right choice trying to get BLT back -- that resort switch will be a hassle, but not as much of a hassle as shipping three kids and CJ to and from parks from SSR all week vs. just jumping on the monorail to get to Epcot and MK.

I gotta be honest - I just did not like BLT waiting so staying at SSR is exciting BUT the convenience of BLT is hard to get past sarcastic

That's a tough decision -- I've heard that once you've stayed Contemporary, it's hard to give up that "walking distance to the Magic Kingdom" thing!

Im going to have to agree with SpaceAce on this one. Staying at BLT, walking to the MK or jumping on the monorail, watching fireworks from my balcony was the most magical thing I have experienced to date. However SSR is a GREAT resort too! It was very peaceful and relaxed! mickey

Being so close to MK with three little ones will probably be SO worth it you won't even care that the resort isn't really your favorite!
I have never stayed at SSR or BLT so I can't really help with that BUT I have been to MNSSHP and it is just SO much fun! If you haven't been before then you are in for such a treat!! My DH and I turned into nine year olds when it came to all the free candy. And..if you have been before then you already know all this. biggrin
