Let's all pretend that alligators don't exist shall we? The World is so much safer with the removal of any references to alligators after all. Is the general public really that naive?

Ugh, honestly, I'm so sick of this topic yet I can't seem to stay away from alligator debate anywhere I go.

Alligators exist, they exists in overwhelming numbers in Florida. They are EVERYWHERE.
I mean seriously - how did most little kids learn that alligators are dangerous? What's that you say? Peter Pan? WHAT!?!? you mean Captain Hook getting his hand bitten off by a crocodile might actually be a benefit in teaching out children to stay away from something DANGEROUS!?! Nonsense.... sarcastic

Removing all the alligators and crocodiles does NOTHING to help children or adults understand that the ******** world is NOT a safe place. Dangers exist and the only way that we can avoid them is to be prepared for them with knowledge.

Do you think most Disney guests also know that Florida has a Boa problem? Hrmmm.... maybe they should remove any reference to Kaa as well. Oh wait! Wait no, can't do that , just released that movie and its still making money.

GGGGggGGrRRrrrrr.... This whole thing makes me so angry. Lawyers, and PR fixers, and people who think that the entire world is this safe fluffy sterilized place to raise perfect children where nothing bad ever happen. UGH! What have we done?

Well said Kristen. I am so ready for this topic to drop but every time I run into someone who knows I love Disney they bring it up. Usually blaming Disney or saying something to the effect of Disney paying big bucks for their mistake. It was a horrible tragic accident end of story. Getting rid of every croc and alligator reference is so silly and way over the top. Ok that is my final rant on the subject I am now done and if someone brings it up to me I am launching into a Disney song which will not be pretty since I can't sing! Wonder which song I should sing?

I was about to post 'well, aren't 'gators everywhere in Florida? Do people locally (or otherwise) not get educated on them?' with a whole bunch more tirade, then I saw Kristen's post so don't need to any more.

A sad tragedy shouldn't result in having to remove all references to them in Disney's pop culture...

After reviewing the information in the above link, I have concluded that, for the sake of humanity as a whole, the State of Florida must be removed, because so many bad things happen there. sarcastic

And the global warming alarmists will tell you that Florida WILL disappear when the ice caps melt.

And reports are that some of the jokes are back in the Jungle Cruise. I can't confirm it though.

Louis has finally made his debut in Mickeys Total Friendship Faire and Tic Tock is back in Festival of Fantasy. Reports are saying that the family of the little boy are not going to sue Disney.

A man was also spotted wearing a Lacoste shirt at the Grand Floridian. That's unconfirmed though.

We just returned from a week at the Grand Floridian. While we were there the original rope/post fence and signs installed after the accident along the small remaining beach front were dug up and moved and reinstalled several feet further in toward resort. Entire beach front was closed to guests while were there, but that was because of the construction. Remaining beach front, if they reopen it, will be very small now and guest cannot get anywhere near the lagoon from the Grand Floridian.

As far as croc references, we went on Jungle Cruise twice and guides just ignored with no comments made during the crocodile portion of the river. Crocs were still visible and mentioned at other attractions: Peter Pan, Safari tour at Animal Kingdom, large statue of Tic Toc Croc at Animal Kingdom outside restaurant, etc.
