Balloons

Do you buy balloons on vacation? We don't usually, because at Animal Kingdom Lodge you can't have them. On this past trip to Disneyland my 12 year old daughter went crazy with glee because she finally got to have a balloon. It seems like such a simple thing. I had never really considered their importance before.

Do you buy balloons? Are they an important part of your trip?

Hmmm, now shall I answer this as me or how my girlfriend would answer it? lol

I would not want one for me but I would gladly buy one for Jess, however she has a dislike for anything with a short life, flowers balloons etc as she likes to keep everything. She would much rather have a small teddy or keyring so that she can keep.

I don't think I have enough room left in the house Innocent

LoL.... Should I mention that we carefully deflated the balloon on the last day and bought it's withered little balloon body home so Katie could keep it?

We bought one for my son last year but he wasn't interested this year. Sometimes I want one though!

I've wanted one of those Mickey balloons since I was a child!

I saw a family roll up to Animal Kingdom with one and be denied admission. They were discussing with guest services if they could leave it with them and pick it up on the way out.

I have to admit, I find those balloons ANNOYING. People kept tying them to strollers or the back of their child and as I was walking along or waiting somewhere, I'd get bopped with the balloon. Not painful, obviously, but obnoxious! (But I secretly still want one....)

Has anyone ever seen one of those Mickey balloons with the outer balloon gone? So it's just the Mickey head? It just occurred to me that I've never seen that.

I've seen a Mickey balloon with the outside balloon popped once the child has had for a while. But they don't sell them without the outside balloon.

AKL has a balloon check now. You just leave it with bell services.

My DW has a strong aversion to Latex balloons, so we had never gotten her one. But several years back she realized they were made of a vinyl now instead of latex (less explosive popping) so we got one and it made her trip.

I've never gotten a balloon from a Disney park, but I've always wanted to. So, this time, it's become a MUST-HAVE, we figured, we'll just guy it on the way out the park.

I know what you mean. We were watching Fantasmic one night at Disney Land, and some kid left the flashy lights on in his balloon through the whole show. It was strapped to the stroller they left right in front of the bridge we were standing on. It was right in front of us, and a little distracting. I wish the cm would have turned it off, but I get that they probably aren't allowed to go and touch people's stuff. Lol, but, I still wanna get one. Just not before a show and not a flashing light one.

A cm outside the ride will hold on to it while you ride.
